2010 G37S with Trade-In

Hi guys,

Just joined these forums and would like some advice. I've been thinking to get the g37s with MT for a while now. Here's my situation:

I currently have a 2008 Mercedes C350 that is worth from 22,000 to 28,000 USD and I still owe 15,000. As to how much the dealer is willing to give me, I'm not sure yet. But it has to be a reasonable price for me to trade it in. Otherwise, I'll just try to sell it off craigslist or something.

The G37s that I want has the navigation and technology packages including illuminated kickplates and the alarm sensor. The car comes out to be around about 47,000 excluding taxes and everything else. Now,
I've talked to the saleswoman and she says the best price she can give me is the invoice price of 44,610, a price where they make no money off the car. She said they can make no money off the car but they can't lose money.

What do you guys think about that price? It's only 1 dealership so far so I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet. One of my friends is telling me that she's full of **** because his friend bought a fully loaded 2009 g37s for 42,000 with everything.

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who can make no money on a sale? She is full of BS and they can and do make money on sales well below factory invoice due to hold back. Look around the site and see what others are paying.

is this a convertible? 44 invoice is REALLY high. my invoice was 41.5... and it literally has everything on it.

getting your car 42OTD (44OTD should be a no brainer) shouldn't be impossible. the C350 has good resale fortunately your not going to owe anything on the car after trade in. i would imagine you're going to get 22-23k... maybe 24 if the dealership is aggressive.

just go to their competing dealership and have fun w/ the chase... ha ha whatever it takes to soften the blow of the depreciation of the two cars purchased in 3 years.

but seriously shop around that saleperson is full of shizz. also try internet pricing.

Definitely shop around. When you go to another dealership don't tell them that you have a trade-in. Negotiate the deal on the car you want first. Then tell them you have a trade-in and negotiate the deal on your trade-in.

From my experience, whenever you try to negotiate both deals at the same time. They usually give you a deal on one and then lowball you on the other.

As far as the dealer not making any money when they sell you a car at invoice, I think they get money from the manufacturer. (Someone correct me if i'm wrong)

Thanks for the replies guys. If it makes any difference, the lady said she has to order directly from the manufacturer because they don't have anything out there like the car I want, and that she can't do anything else about the pricing. Honestly, how much do you guys think I can get the car for with the options I mentioned earlier? Oh, and it's not a convertible. It's just the regular coupe g37s.

it does actually

you actually aren't supposed to be able to negotiate for a car that isn't on the lot... but you can ask them to order it and then negotiate when it arrives. you'll just have to put down an deposit. and it will take up to 2 months depending on when you order the cars and when the next shipment arrives.

New Car Inventory - Infiniti G35, FX35, Q45 - Infiniti of Manhasset - Manhasset, NY

Do you guys think I can knock the price down any further?
