well a white/graphite 6mt is a desireable combination. I just sold a '08 G37 6mt coupe w/ premium/navigation/tech/4ws with 400 miles on it for $33k .... and it didn't have 6k miles on it. I'm sure you can get around that price if you tried.

I have decided to price it at $31.5k and going to start advertising it soon. Any thoughts on my asking price too low or just right? I am pricing it to sell don't want to sit on the car for 6 months trying to sell it.

I'd say you're spot-on for a quick sale. However, if you're hoping to actually get $31.5 in the end, you might want to start a bit higher. Expect people to come in with offers around $2k below your asking price, so if you aren't willing to go below $31k, then you might want to start around $32.5 at first. Just my opinion.

If I was you. Start it higher, atleast 33k. But you should have not trouble selling it quickly.

Are you sure?

I just priced out a brand new 2009 G37S with Premium, Navigation, and Technology package and it comes out to $38,000. If you drive that same car off the lot, it's worth $35,000 or less. We're talking about a 2008 model here, not a 2009. I'd be impressed if you are able to get any more than $33000 for it. Any more and the buyer would probably be better served by just buying new.

^^ exactly, and with the 2010's right around the corner, and the drop tops, depending where you are you'd be lucky to get 30k for it. The dealerships have an easier time getting cars sold because they can finiance, unless your willing to take payments, I don't see you getting anything over 30k for that car, just being honest, it is 3 years old now.

The sticker for that car would be 44k. I would be surprised if you can get it for 38k. Plus you would have to pay an extra 4-5k in taxes.

So yes, 33k is a pretty good deal.

It does not matter what the sticker for the car would be. It matters what the market price of a brand new identical vehicle is. The reason being, why take a risk on a used vehicle when a brand new one costs almost the same?

You can get it for $38,000 because USAA is haggle-free. Print out the sheet and bring it to the dealer and the deal is done. That's a price both USAA and dealers can agree to. I'm sure you can go slightly lower too.

As far as taxes, it's a moot point. In the state that I live in, you have to pay taxes on a used car anyways. So based on all these factors, $33,000 is probably where someone would consider the vehicle. If you want to sell it, you'll probably have to go below that figure.

Ask the dealer by when they need a confirmation and throw a few ADs on craiglist/e-bay/autotrader etc.. If you don't get better offers by the dealer's deadline, then just sell it to them and move on.

That's what I would do, Less headache > $1-2k

Take it and be done with it. I sold mine back to my dealer as well. Painless and let someone else enjoy the car you have babied. It's a win-win. Good luck!!

man a dealer is gonna take you for all your worth on a nearly new trade in. you can sell it to someone (id say 36K if you wait it out) as nearly new, but all a dealership is gonna see is a depreciated car
