Exclamation Floor Mats?

I checked Infiniti's website and it's states floor mats are standard.

I got an e-mail from a dealer telling me that I have to pay for floor mats. Also, I have to pay for splash guards and trunk mats because it comes from the factory and are not optional (Splash guards/Trunk mats are accessories). Am I being hustled?

It's an 09 G37 sedan

The car should come with floor mats. Maybe the dealership is thinking that you want the all season mats, which are an additional cost. Yes, the splash guards and trunk mat are additional accessories which are added onto the cost of the car.

I did not ask for trunk mats or splash guards. But the dealer is telling me that it's a factory installed feature and I have to pay for it (Not optional.)

Could be- Splash guards and the trunk mat were with my car when it came in and listed as options on the window sticker. The dealership would not let me take them out to reduce the price. Depends how the car was ordered.

standard floor mats and the standard trunk mat are standard. If you want the all season floor mats or the additional trunk mat than it costs extra. I think the optional trunk mat has an Infiniti logo on it whereas the standard does not. Splash guards are completely optional however they are factory installed. But someone has to order it that way. A lot of dealerships will only order cars with splashguards. Prob for the extra money that they get off it. Dealers wont remove the splash guards cause it will prob damage the paint.

My suggestion is to tell them to put the standard floor & trunk mat back in the car so that you dont have to pay for the optional ones. (the standards dont have the infiniti logo) You will just have to deal with the splash guards or try to bargain around it.

Seems that they are not budging on the splash guards so I will go for it anyway. I was just taken aback when the dealer replied stating I have to pay for floor mats (did not specify so I assuming it was the non standard mats) as Infiniti states floor mats are standard.
