Did I get a good deal on my '09 G37x Coupe?

Hi everyone. So last night I finally bought my 2009 G37x AWD coupe. It had premium package, navi, tech package, illuminated kick plates, trunk cargo net. The MSRP is $46,255 and after aggressive bargaining, we settled it for $43,300. Invoice was $42,374 on edmunds. I didn't do finanicing because I am paying it off. Do you think I got a good deal on this new vehicle? This is the first time I bought a brand new car. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

I personally would not have paid $1000 over invoice. I think they could have discounted you more considering the state of the economy and the fact that you where paying it off.

^ Keep in mind that this is a '09 g37x AWD version, the fact that they discounted it at ALL so early in the game shows just how bad the state of the economy is in.

I think the deal is okay, could have been better if you waited longer. Thats not to say that i wouldn't have done what you did though... If you keep waiting for that 0% w/ $1000 under invoice, you'll be waiting for a while.

congrats on your purchase dude, lets see some pics

Considering how new that model is & your time of purchase, I'd say you did just fine, congrats!

pretty decent deal i think for an 09. might have been able to go a little lower since you're paying it off. plus how do you set a discount for bad economy? lol.

i was offered 43k for an 09 journey - prem/nav/sport so this lets me know i can argue for lower.

Why do folks think you get a better deal with a cash deal, don't the dealers make something on the loan?

I dont know how it works with IFS, but other manufacturers who sell a car with a loan to an outside bank get payed by the bank for the loan.

Given that the banks aren't lending, infiniti prefers cash to financing at those rates. In Canada, inifiniti gives you $4,000 more discount if you buy cash

One dealer offered me $10,000 below the price on their website without even negotiating, I went to another dealer in Toronto the next day, and said financing they offered $6,000 discount, when I said the other dealer is giving me $10k discount, the manager told me that's if you buy cash. Inifiniti's rebate is $6,000 for financing and $10k for cash. Of course that was for an 08, I don't know if it also applies to 09 as they don't have them yet

With that kind of discount if they're giving the 08 for $43k, the 09 shouldn't be much different, as the sticker price is $2 - 3 k lower than the 08

Dealers don't give a **** whether you pay cash or loan. They get the money for the car. Either the bank you finance through or IFS pays them. The dealer gets paid.

+ 1

Considering all that, I think it's a pretty good deal.
Congrats on your first new car, you picked a great one! What color did you get?

sticker on the 09 isnt lower? the 09s are more expensive because they are brand new whereas the 08s have been sitting for a year. they're trying to clear out 08 inventory to make room for more 09s so the biggest deals will be on 08s.
