yeah, the economy is down so anything that will attract buyers is a plus for the automobile industry.

They might have to extend it all the way to 2010

How much can I expect to pay for a 2008 out the door?

I don't want to spend more than 33-34k for a 6MT. Is this feasible as the 2009 models arrive or should I search for a used model instead?

I'm new here so I don't actually know what packages are a must? My girlfriend wouldn't allow me to buy a car without a NAV package though. lol

I recommend getting the nav and premium. The sounds system is amazing and so is all the other stuff that comes with the premium. You don't really need the tech package.

As said, the NAV and PREM packages make the coupe the luxury car it's meant to be. You cannot order the NAV package without ordering the PREM. So, if the GF demands NAV, you are getting both. I also skipped the TECH package and do not feel I gave up anything I really wanted/needed.

Invoice prices (from Edmunds) are as follows:
Base Car: 33,284
Prem: 2,757
Nav: 1,896
Rear Spoiler: 474
Illuminated kick plates (sort of cool): 270
Splash Guards: 158
Trunk Mat: 70
Trunk Net: 43

I included the last four items because I think you'll be hard pressed to find an '08 without them.

Destination Charge (west coast): 815 but my car was 715

Total: 39,797 (although mine was 39,296 because it was built before the mid-year price increase).

You should be able to get $1000 off that invoice price.
All that for a 6MT version.

Haha, I got the tech package. Preview braking is worth it alone if it can save your life. Advanced cruise control is pretty cool (although you'll develop a tendency to get drowsy since the car practically drives itself on the freeway). I do agree the turning headlights aren't that great...I have yet to see something "around the bend" at night that I wouldn't have caught without it.

If Toyota has 0%, it's just a matter of time.
