Hi Everyone-

Any thoughts on what the 2008 G37 September rates will be for leasing? I have two payments remaining + a $350 turn in fee for my Audi A4 and I'm thinking I should jump on a G37 2 year lease by 9/2 if I get a good deal.

I'm looking for a LP/Graphite with Sports and Navigation in S. Florida and only one dealership has 2 in stock that have the color combo and the options I'm looking for + the technology package. I don't want the technology package, but I have no other choice since I want that color combo. The 09's will have no lease relief when my current lease ends in 2 months, so I have to take that into considerations.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.....

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Be prepared for I told you so... September rates will turn against you on 2008 leases since the 2009 models are projected to hit. Stall and pay more.

 

so your saying that when the 09s come in, the 08 rates will go up?

Because when 09 comes in, 08 worth much less. Makes perfect sense.

 

^ I don't know, when the G37's came out they had killer deals on the 07 G35 coupe, I think they had 1yr leases for like $350 or something weird, but they hardly had any to choose from.

 

That isn't always going to be the case. Take MB for example, their 09 C300 have better lease rates than their 08 models. I suspect the same will be the case for the G37s. You will probably see a lot more cashback or low interest financing on the G37s as we get closer to year-end.

 

I agree. Afterall, in a lease you essentially pay the depreciation value of the vehicle in 2-3-4 years. If a new model comes out, then the perceived value of the older vehicles after that amount of time is less (thus more for you to pay). As a result, as the older model can't possibly command as much money after 3 years, you end up paying more for the older vehicle...

This of course fluctuates depending on residual values the banks have for the month you're leasing the vehicle...

 

No, you are right about this. Infiniti did offer a 15 month lease which would have a smoking high residual and an excellent MF making for an excellent lease. Odds are however that since banks are getting stricter, 12 or 15 month leases are horrible from a banking standpoint so I'm thinking that IFS won't offer this anymore, at least this year.

BTW, it wasn't when the G37's dropped; it was in May or June I believe.I'll bet money that this is a true statement.

 

MB NEVER has good leases, what's the 09 C300 like $600 a month? I really don't get it when I leased my Z4 I was looking at a SLK, I got both of the car w/ options to the same price and the Benz was like $125.00 more a month, and no free maintaince, I went with the Z4 lol.........

 

This has been proven to be true, especially in the past few years. Everyone that I've seen that wants to trade-in their leased MB for an Infiniti is shocked to learn that they're upside down by a big margin. MBZ once in a while has a "pull ahead" program where MBZ Financial pays up to six payments off your current lease so long as you reselect another Benz. IFS has had a similar program, but haven't seen it since last year.

 

Yes I understand what your saying about the huge difference in banks now vs. last year, and I did add when they were running that deal dealerships hardly had any cars to choose from, mostly just those tan ones, with all different options I'm sure it will be pretty difficult to get the 2008 car you want if you contiune to wait.

 

Concurred, plus the lease is ugly and is only attractive to buyers. Keep in mind, when leasing, banks are probably going to see that car come back to them after the term since most will just turn it back in instead of buying out the residual (what they really want you to do).

 

ROFL. That is so true. MB leases stink. I think part of the reason is that MBs are way overpriced. They seem rather desperate to move their 09's though. I know a guy that got it $1000 under invoice for a c300 sport 4matic.
