Help Please...Lease question

I went to the nearest Infinit dealership today and they quoted me a very high lease payment in my opinion.

Before I provide the details, let me ask the obvious.

Is Infiniti's June base rate (.00184) for a G37 Journey for 24 months/ 12K miles per year the same as what the dealer quoted me today? They quoted the Rate as being 1.84.

Here are the details from dealer # 1 (obviously I have to shop around):

MSRP = $43,875
Capitalized Cost = $41,187.22
Total After Market Options = $599
Cap Reduction = $0
Residual = 72%
Rate = 1.84
Florida Tax = 7%
Inceptions including first month = $1,456
Monthly including Tax = $598.63

It's a Black Obsedian/Graphite interior G37 Journey with Premium/Sport/Navigation/Spoiler (accounts for the $599 AMO)

The drive off is fine since I was thinking it would be in that ball park. However, the monthly price (including tax) is crazy high compared to many of the myg37.com member deals. I don't expect to get the exact same deal as everyone else, but $599/month is rediculous.

When I told the sale guy the Cap Cost was too high, he made no effort to negotiate further and allowed me to walk out. What gives?

Any advice g37 owners? BTW, I went to South Motors Infiniti in Miami, Florida.

Have a great weekend!

S. Motors has to be the worst dealership in Miami period...my advice is to take a drive and goto sawgrass infiniti, coconut creek infiniti or west palm infiniti... west palm is where i got my G37 and i pay 500$ journey,premimum package,nav,technology package...and a few other upgrades

Capitalized cost is way too high, with current market conditions capitalized cost on a G37 should not be more than invoice.

A couple of questions.

What is the invoice selling price of the car?
Can you breakdown the "inceptions" costs?
Confirm the money factor rate of 0.00184?
What is the "total after market options?" Invisible bra, paint protection, etc. Was this included in the selling price - are these options retail price or dealer costs? Did you request them or were they added by the dealer; if so, don't pay for them.

The best time to buy is at or near the end of the month - you should be in good shape if you purchase this week-end.

Are you dealing with a salesman or internet/fleet manager?

Pay invoice or less...

Based on your numbers, this is what I am getting:

$447.52 per month + inception (1st month payment, dmv, doc, bank, tire)

The only unconfirmed part this what you are paying for at inception.
Your inception is $1456, but what does it cover?
You need to identify what fees you NEED to pay and how much they are. When they bundle the inception, there's no way to tell what they you are paying.

Check my Lease Formula & Calculator and see for yourself.

The residual and rates are good 'til today, so move fast. Shoot me an email at g(at)ridewithg.com if you need some help.

Reminds me of when I first started looking, the dealer kept refiguring my lease payments, with new down payment amount but they never changed the car's cost and were using MSRP as their price. I kept telling them I'm not moving forward with anything until they changed the cap cost down to around invoice. There response was, no one can get that price. The next day i closed my deal with S.M. Infiniti in CA, a little over invoice. "Can't be done my butt!"
The point is, some dealers are taking the stance that these are super rare cars and should be priced at msrp or more. Which is just dumb. The dealers that are actually moving units, know that volume can make up for a little discount here and there. Just shop around to the recommended dealers, one of them will give you the deal you're looking for, just use the local guys to select your model and trim, and test drive their vehicles.

Graham,

I agree with everything you said, but the dealers are wrong in describing the G37's as "super rare cars..." Infiniti's are not super rare; a super rare car is an original 1969 Chevrolet Z/28 with dual 4 barrel carbs - that's rare my friend (and worth well over $100K). Infiniti's are very plentiful.

Yeah, as much as I love my G37, I do not consider it really unique, granted there are only a few on the road right now, but in a little bit they'll be just as common sight as a G35.
I was refering to it being dumb that some dealers think a G37 is like a F430 or something, but you caught on.
