That sale price looks to be about $1k over invoice. Wait a day, then call your guy and say "people are getting these 08 models for well below invoice. Infiniti's got the 2009 model announcement coming up in 2 weeks... I need a very good reason to pull the trigger on an 08 today... sell me the car for $39,000 and I'll sign right now".

The worst they can say to you is "no". But if you stand your ground and say "fair enough - I need to research my options more thoroughly", they will change their tune and come back with a far better offer. If they don't, it's because they don't think you're a serious buyer. A dealer is far more inclined to give a basement price to someone that is serious and not just looking to shop quotes.

I think you can do better. With VPP pricing you can expect to pay about 92.6% of MSRP. I just signed a G37 6MT for 91% of MSRP...you can definitely get invoice or below with the imminent release of the 09 G. Try to leverage multiple dealers.

I am not certain of all the options however based on carsdirect.com I come up with:

G37 journey, sport package, premium, navigation, splash guards, cargo net, trunk mat...invoice price of $40,064.

I would shoot for below this and see how they react. I am not sure what part of the country you are in, but in GA I know you can get invoice or better.

I am also uncertain of the financing deals being offered as I am leasing. I do know that if you are in college or graduated within the last two years you will qualify for top-tier credit from IFS automatically (I was able to take advantage of this).

I love how everyone thinks that an invoice deal is a fair deal... dealer sells a 44k car and leaves no gross profit for the salesperson to collect on...

^^ salespersons get an hourly rate / managers are on salary, that's good enough tips should be optional depending on the customers experience lmao!

What? You guys don't have hourly pay, hold backs, volume sales commission? I'm shocked!

Serious question...I will be having my G37 delivered to my residence soon, and was wondering if it is necessary/appropriate to tip the sale's person when they bring it...this is the first time I will be having the dealer come to me.

if your completely happy why not give them a tip if you have it. That's respectable.

Yea I was leaning towards tipping, not sure how much but we'll see.

I am satisfied with the deal and the efficiency of service, might as well. I am not sure how he will even be getting back to the dealership (maybe a taxti?).
