G35 Lease Question

Sorry I didnt see this section in the g35...

Hello All! I am interested in leasing an 08 G35 Journey with Premium Package and Navigation. I just emailed the salesperson to get more details after reading all the other threads. I asked her if I can get the residual, MF, and sales cost so I can see if I am a good deal. This is what I know so far it is for 39 months, $349 plus tax, $3500 down. What do you guys think of this deal so far? Can you please help me out? Thanks!

When you lease, you are paying for the difference between the sale price and the residual value, plus finance charge, plus tax. Lease Formula. Do not negotiate payments with dealers. You will not be able to see all the fees you are paying. Negotiate the sale price as if you were buying the car. Closer to invoice the better. I recently got a G37 and this is the deal I got: "My G37".

Hey Ride,

I'm planning to lease my g37 next month. I want the Journey with Sport/Premium/Spoiler/Guards/Kicks/Net. I have $2,000 for down payment drive off, out the door for 39 mos, 15k/yr. How much do you think should be my monthly?

Remember, when leasing, the word "down" doesn't mean total out of pocket or "drive-off". "Down" is really the cash cap reduction (aka "down payment") in addition to your inception costs all due at start.

BTW, this sounds a lot like the national advertised lease direct from Infiniti.

The MSRP is around $42,405. Edmunds doesn't show the invoice for this model, so I gotta take a wild guess. Assuming a near invoice price of ($38,500), which isn't impossible depending on where you live, your monthly payment should be around $446+tax with just the fees + 1st month payment (around $1400) at drive-off. If you do put go with 2k at drive-off, then you should be looking at somewhere around $430+tax. These are rough estimates since i am not sure what your selling price will be. Depends on how good of a negotiator you are. :P

Make sure your what Dave ISM says about "down payment". Don't confuse the drive-off with that down payment.

I mean $2,000 drive-off, sorry Dave. So it's about $450 a month... Which is kinda the same as what the dealers are quoting me. Any chance that i could get this lower or is this a set price?

The lease was 349.00 plus tax. The vehicle with premium and Navigation would be 4900 down. Money Factor is .00173, Residual is 22,614.70. Vehicle price is 35,700.00.

So this is what she came back with? And she changed the money down. I'm not going to do this deal... but do you think i would be able to negotiate with another dealership for 2500 down?

Better yet what do you experts see in here that you think I would be able to negotiate and get a better deal?

Thanks for your time you guys!

MSDs are probably the only way...unless the dealer will sell you one for under invoice. :P

I wouldn't do it either...who wants to pay 4.9k down? Does that even include inception fees? geez.
Personally I put nothing down on my cars. I just pay 1st month + fees. If the MF is low enough, I'd even roll in the fees and just pay 1st month.
You can get a better deal I'm sure. You probably won't get it for 349 a month with no money down, but I think you can do about 399 with no money down, plus tax...or around that vicinity.

The only "better deal" would be a lower selling price, otherwise evertything else pretty much stays in place. Like Ride mentions, go with MSDs to buy down your MF and reduce your payment, however it is more in the drive-off up front.

Otherwise, you're now at a point where you're splitting dimes and nickels. If this is the exact car you want, just jump on it and take it home.

Do they have the exact vehicle you want in their inventory? Why not go back and work with them to configure the lease based on $2,500 drive-off instead? Work with them and I'm sure that they'll work with you, especially if they're your closer store.
