Can I modd?
I leased a 2008 Journey, with the premium and sports package. Pics soon to come...Im not interested in putting anything major in my G, just some head/tail light overlays, front grill, and the root of all evil; an exhaust system(maybe borla?)...Will my warranty be voided? Will they pull some dumb bull**** like making me buy the car if i do this?
There have been many topics on this already so just search before posting.
But to answer your question, yes you can mod. The only stipulation is you have to put it back to stock if/when you return the car. Some dealers actually let you ask their service tech which mods they recommend. They cannot void your warranty due to you modding the car. What will happen is if any particular part fails they have to prove that that mod was the direct cause of the failure in order to void that part of your warranty. In the end all mods are acceptable as long as you can turn the car back to stock.
The only thing dealers don't ant you to do is to piant the car another color, or to turbo/supercharge it.

Thanks alot
Thanks alot for the more than speedy reply...So i guess ill move on the general forum to ask questions like which exhaust system you guys reccomend...
Dealers are soley the retailers and don't make these determinations. If your lender (in most cases here, IFS) allows you to modify your car, more power to you however just about every lender I know won't (this includes IFS) because they have to take it back in and wholesale out your vehicle if you chose not to purchase the residual at the end.

Ooops, thought too fast and typed too slow! IFS won't let you mod your car like crazy however if you do, just return everything back to stock as much as you can when you turn it back in. Thanks for catching that!

Moral of the story, guarantee stays as long as not turboed/supercharged and if problem techs need to prove it is the modd that caused the problem to void guaruntee. And modd the living **** out of it, but return it the way you got it. All good?
Lease or no lease, I would still mod. I could not imagine driving a stock car for 24months because its a lease! lol
Mod within the first 4 months, enjoy it for 19months and return back to stock!
With basic mods you should not have a big problem, as long as the part of failure is not the one modified.

When I had to turn in my 04 G35, I left the Tien H-Techs and IFS did not say anything
Odds are, they won't really, however you're out that money that spent into those mods, that's all.
You can leave them with the car. I left mine in because I couldn't break the nut holding the brake lines in the front.
