Trading in 06 G35 Coupe -

SO I'm going this weekend to resume talks of trading up to a G37 Journey with Sports/Navi/Premium packages...

This involves me trading in my G35 Coupe that is on lease for another 10 more months. What should I expect? ***-raping or a silver platter as far as a deal goes?

I'll be curious what you come up with. In Aug I'm 12 mo into a 24 mo lease on a Grand Cherokee. However I bought it under invoice after rebates and incentives, and at less than 1% interest rate.

But I don't know how the trade in market looks in So. Calif. The closest Infiniti dealer to me is Valencia and I'm not too motivated to drive 90 min to find out it's not possible until lease end.

I would recommend that you wait out the 10 months on your lease; chances are you will not get as much on your trade-in as your payoff.

Well .... some dudes actually like that, so it might actually be a good thing, you never know.

Not that there's anything wrong with that ...

+1... Given the timing I'd wait as well. You'll get the 09 or maybe a great deal on an 08 when the 09s are out and you won't get raped as bad with terminating the lease early.

+2

OP, no one can make 10 lease payments disappear, so it's best just to wait until you're at least 3 months away if you really want to make a move.

"This guy" is getting more and more jealous as for the rare occasions I see a G37 fly by me.

Financially sound decision is to wait out the 10 months and let it ride. Thereafter, I'll be out of my MBA program, banking more money and afford something more grand, maybe a used CLS63 AMG..haha...

Thanks for the reality check fellas, see ya around....

at least you have a way out of your suv at the end of your lease. the trend right now at dealerships is that a lot of them wont accept suv's as trade ins.

Not true. What is true however is the market on them is super soft right now due to high gas prices therefore trade-in values on them are the lowest they've been in years.

dave, i didn't say that all dealerships are not accepting suvs. there are a lot, especially in california (you should know) that will not accept them--anywhere gas is going over $4 a gallon. my point was that dirtboy is lucky he has a way out of his suv in a market where suv sales have dropped 45%-65% over the las three quarters. however, he's not going to do well trying to get out of his lease early trading it in or trying to have someone buy out his lease.
