If you leased: Are you planning on keeping it?
Are you keeping your G when the lease expires?
why or why not?
I leased mine for 24months and i'm on the fence about keeping it. Theres a few rock chips in front of the rear wheels (where the plastic laminate is) that is absolutely killing me.
I can't think of any reason NOT to keep it aside the fact i live in a winter wonderland and need to invest on some really good tires/rims if i wanna even consider keeping the G and taking her out in that weather -otherwise i have a beater i can use while i put the G away.
another option is to buy the new X6 or FX as a year round vehicle and rid myself of storing the G in the winter.
two very different scenario's at hand. I have no issues with the car aside the one with it not beiing a year round car here in MN.
anyone have any reason for why they are not keeping their G? or why they are looking ahead? wish i lived in florida

i'm same - 24 mos / 10k miles...
even tho i absolutely love it - probably wont keep it cos my reason behind leasing is to drive new cars every 2 yrs - the only exception being selling it right after..
my residual at lease-end is around $32k

No. And here’s why…
I leased for 39 months and 15k a year and I’m pretty sure I’ll be tired of it by then. While this is a very nice car, technology wise, it just doesn’t drive like a German Auto.
This car has no soul, I can’t describe it, but something is missing. maybe a few mods will help...
I had a modded 2005 S4 and I miss it every day. I would have kept it but the buyout was f***ed!

No soul? WTF are you talking about? Name one German car w/ a NA motor less than $40k that can keep up w/ the g37. The g37 is a Skyline; this car has more soul that most will ever understand. Sure the 335i is faster, but that’s a TT engine, and the interior of the 335i is butt ugly compared to the G. In a couple of years we will have so a lot of bolt-ons, to play with. The choices will be many and I bet (for sure!) that will see some great numbers come out of the G.
Nope won't be keeping mine.. I doubt in 2-3 years if you all will still be in love with th G as much as you are today.. There wil most likely be several other vehicles on the road then that you'll much rather have than the G37.

lucky kid. i call this kid andew by the way (in my head) -and everytime i punch my G into 5th gear while passing a fully equiped Honda Odessey i think about Andrew and how he will inherrit the G someday... lucky kid. lol.
anyways, i love my G but the only thing right now that would push me to getting another car -is another G! nothing else out there in this class really catches me eye -both design wise and value.
I wonder what will be out there in two years!?

You are correct, I can't name 1 German car for under $40k that keeps up with the G. Understand that speed is not everything... I could go into further detail about how this car is put together compared to my old Audi, but I wont.
And dont get me wrong, I think this car is a great deal for the price(engine, interior, ect) thats why I leased one!!

Won't be keeping mine either, like others the whole purpose behind leasing for me was to switch up down the road with no strings attached. There's always something better coming out, just looking at the G's, already when the new 7AT comes out the 5AT won't be looking so hot. Everyone has their vices, unfortunately cars are mine.
I'll probably do one more coupe before I give in to settling down and starting the family. At that point I'll probably stick with something sporty, albeit 4 door or worse for practicality, but I think I'll always lean towards performance.
Biggest problem with leasing is the "cycle" you get in with always wanting something better. You get it with financing too but probably on a much longer time frame. Once you've driven something at a certain level you can't go back, so I'll probably be looking into the 80K zone for my next car where the next level of sporty coupes are. Unfortunately when my lease is up, the G will only be at a mid-model update so it'll be a tough call to get back into one. But that's the beauty of it, you have that choice to make when the time comes.

Same here. That's the reason why I leased this time around. I was buying new vehicles and switching them every 2-3 yrs. Not a wise thing to do financially.
I too leased for 39mo, so who knows how i will feel about it by the time its over. I read car magazines all the time and work for an auto supplier so I am around new/future models everyday, so I have a wandering eye.
My next love will prob be a sports sedan, preferably with AWD and all season tires, but whenever I see an A5 or 335 coupe, my heart melts. Then I step in my G37 to drive home from work and my smile widens.
Its tough to say, but who knows what will be available in 2.5 more years. Plus I will most likely be married and starting a family by then (will be 30 :-0) so not sure if I will need such an impractical vehicle.
