Basically kid was posting to a site simlar to this one asking how to make the car faster etc...He definetly was successful going fast. I'm sure he "floored it like 10 times" too before the tragic end.

No, this was a kid in Florida. 12 hours before the accident, he was posting on the M5 forum asking how to shift better when the car is in 500hp mode. 12 hours later, he and 4 of his friends decide to take the car to a runway and test the speed. Got it up to 150mph...unfortunately, runways slope down and also he ran out of runway space..lost control of the car...it literally took off...all 5 kids dead.

Exactly, seen it all too often....I'm not hating on anything (tell yourself whatever you'd like)...I just dont take to well to someone who brags about "flooring it 10 times"...At the age of 16 you sound like a very safe and responsible driver with that kind of talk...I was 16 once as well, and I've had plenty of nice cars that I've earned along the way...Best of luck with the car and be careful...There are two types of 16 year olds when it comes to maturity levels...Hoping for your sake and those around you that you're a responsible one...

PS. 95% of the posters who respond "dont listen to the haters" are also in the teens...Why all teens seem to take offense to someone wanting drivers to be SAFE and responsible is beyond me...

I should also add I'm 25, not some geezard trying to slow things down...Carry on and congrats...

Really? How do you like the 535i? What did you think of the 528i you had? Was it the newer 528i (2008+) or older? Your a crazy baller if your parents got you a new 528i, 535i, and now a g37!! No wonder people hate on you so much...

I was wondering... Does the g37 paddle shifters (tiptronic/steptronic) downshift by itself? My BMW 528i does... Im thinking of getting a G37/G37S.

It's sad to say, but these young kids have to learn the hard way. Didn't we all had to go through that phase?
chain-All of us, just want you to take the word from the wise. We all been there done that, so just be safe, that car has too much power for a 16 year old.
Shoot, my first car was only 184 HP and it was a E46 3 series. lol
Just be lucky man!

Not at all my friend, im 28 years old, not a young teen trying to defend a fellow teenager, and if you dont take well to someone who brags about "flooring it 10 times" then thats cool, thats your own opinion, but your earlier posts if you wanna look back at it showed unecessary "HATE", for example-> "I'm not HATING because I bought MY OWN G35 coupe at a young age of 20, but I purchased it myself...Why a parent would put a 16 year old kid that "flooored it 10 times" behind a 330hp 40k car is beyond me..." -> Not hating would be NOT caring if parents put their son in a $40K sports coupe...just because that didnt happen to you at that age, then why even get mad about it? He stated that his dad wanted him to feel the true power of the car so he floored it...is there anything really wrong with that? Also you stated-> "My guess is your parents were born into money...Now take some time to think up all the dirty words you've learned over the past 16 years and fire away..." What the hell is that comment all about? Sounds like a hater to me....

Yep, I read that M5 forum about AmericanM5 (kid's s/n who died)...there's a lesson to be learned here. Younger kids have a tendency to think they have everything under control, which is simply not true. From what I could tell, that guy was naive, ignorant, and immature. Going to a party, having some drinks, and packing your car with high school friends to romp down an airstrip in the early morning...it's scary to think that these kind of things are going through the minds of our adolescent kids these days.

The best thing to do is just read the entire thread and see for yourself exactly what happened. Let's hope nothing tragic like that happens here. If you're one of the VERY FEW lucky kids (esp. 16-17) who own a G37, please respect the car and drive carefully. If you really want to push your car to its limits, take it to a controlled environment like your local track. Other than that, enjoy your car, you are one lucky SOB. If you're a forum member and have kids around that age, keep an eye on those little rascals haha.

chain, as far as your deal is concerned, you aren't giving us much to work with. what options do you have? you listed an MSRP price of $42775...i'm just going to stab in the dark here...that's everything except tech and 4was? your lease numbers don't mean much if you don't give us the negotiated price...and i'm too lazy to do the math to figure out what you paid, so help us out here.

I know a guy (16 years old), had a CLK 65, and he thought he was god or something by the way he was driving. He lost control on Ventura and crashed into three other cars. He came out with a broken leg, rib, and arm, and the other guy, let's just say he wasn't so lucky.

Haters usually tend to NOT have the finer things in life...I'm very happy with where I'm at...I'll leave it at that...

Do I agree with a parent buying a 16 year old a 40k car? No...Does that make me a hater? Again, refer to the line above...
