Tip for ANYONE looking to buy a car.
Tip for ANYONE looking to buy a car.
There are ways to avoid paying any kind of tax on your car (legal too!).
Anyway, I am currently a student at Saint Louis University in STL, MO but I am originally from Hawaii.
My parents recently bought me a new G37S and payed no taxes on it.
The way this works is, some states collect taxes through the car dealer, and others collect it through registration. Missouri is one of the states that taxes once you register the car while Hawaii is one who collects tax through the dealer you buy the car from. So what my parents did was buy the car from a dealership in STL and then had it registered at home (Hawaii).
I know this might not be possible for everyone but definitel check your neighboring states laws to see if you can save yourself a bit of cash.
Then of course put your savings into mods, etc, etc
