April Lease Rates

Figured someone would've started this thread anyhow. I was hoping to get some information from a any of the reputable dealers regarding this. Hopefully David from ISM can chime in or anyone else on what the new MF and Residuals are for the month of April.

With the Fed rate being lower, April's lease rates should be lower than March. The difference is becoming negligible, though.

They are surely lowering the lease rates, but now they ask for a lot of down payment

Eh, MF rates did come down, however I got a funky matrix yesterday from IFS that I think will be revised. Residuals appear to have come down as well. When I'm in my office with updated info, I'll try and share.

Financing-wise, 1.9% APR short-term (24 - 36) and 2.9% APR long-term (48 - 63) financing is still available on both the G coupe and G35 sedan, however the G35 sedan has lost Conquest/Loyatly cash bonus.

patel511 isn't totally wrong in the thinking that IFS is tightening up their approvals. I had a gentleman this past weekend with a decent Equifax FICO, however was a little light and newer on bureau, and he got DQ'd by IFS so they are getting stricter. Even a bigger down wouldn't have helped, so his only shot is a co-signer.

...which is probably what happened to me. This provision is kind of defeating the purpose considering any kind of damage must have already been done by those who have their house in foreclosure and their cars seized.

Those who have the money (like me) to spend on a new car can no longer do that because of this provision. And the auto industry is complaining of poor sales?

Tightening up in a buyers market is hardly productive. Sounds more like paranoia to me. I wonder how some people do business some times.

Well i went into a local dealer for test drives and I was asking about the previous months 2700 down 419 a month, and they couldn't do anything remotely close to that. So hoefully the similar lease packages are still around. But i have my back up dealer who will probably be able to do a similar deal.

Ok..so what I'd like to know: Is it dependent on the dealer or more towards IFS?

Because, after all, it's ultimately dependent toward IFS, but then what does the dealer have to do with IFS, other than maybe their sales volume?

Forgive me, but I'm not familiar with last months lease rates. Are these better than March, or not?

ok unless i am screwing something up here... looks good to me...

this is the figures i worked on (what i would want)

MSRP $42,500 (rough estimate)
selling price $39,000
24 month lease

came to $468/month plus NJ (7%) tax = just a tad over $500/month.

not bad for 2 yrs, nothing down...

am i right on this?

Correct, +1 for 12k, +2 for 10k (except for the 24 month term).

So on the contrary to last month, the 36 and 39 months are leasing better vs 24 month now instead?? (better MF and lower residual for 24 months now?)

Just as rates are going down, residual goes down each quarter, so its an even trade. Picked up my car the last day of the first quarter, next day residual falls, rates probably stayed the same..
