G37 Pricing according to release date

Hello All,

First of all I would like to say thank you to everyone on this forum for their helpful information about the G37. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help out with their advice. I thank you!!

Here' the deal. I am very close to purchasing a G37 in the S. California region. (Hopefully this week!) I have been actively calling and talking to various dealers: Riverside, Montclair, Cerritos, Monrovia. A dealer I spoke to sent me a very good out the door quote for a G37 Base model, Liquid Platinum in color. The problem is that I requested Platinum Graphite and they did not have it in stock. They said that it would be possible to get it but it would cost $300 more because it is a newer G37 release model versus the Liquid Plat. model they already have in stock. I would like to believe the dealer is on the up and up but this sounds strange to me. Its the same exact model, just different color. What do you guys think? Is their a different pricing of G37s base models according to release date?

this is not true. to my knowledge, the msrp did not change from the manufacturer. ask to see copies of the window sticker for both cars and check to see if there is a difference in price.

It might be true, the price on edmunds' mrsp changed to about $250 more. I agree ask to see the window sticker for both cars.

I believe they did increase MSRP on all Infiniti models back in December or January (most likely January). Here is the link to the Nissan website. Here is the announcement:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 29, 2008) – Infiniti announced interim price increases on select 2008 models, effective January 29, 2008. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) increases range between $200 and $350. Models receiving increases include G35 Sedan ($250), G37 Coupe ($250), M35 ($300) M45 ($350) and QX56 ($200).*

Infiniti offers a full-line of luxury performance automobiles, including the G coupe and sedan, the M luxury performance sedan, FX premium crossover SUV, QX full-size luxury SUV, and the EX personal luxury crossover. More information about Infiniti and the Total Ownership Experience can be found at Infiniti.com.

* MSRP excludes applicable tax, title and license fees. Dealer sets actual price. Prices and specs are subject to change without notice.

This might be what they are talking about.

Also note that if the dealer is doing a car swap, some might actually charge for it.

Taking a stab in the dark, I would think increased shipping/transportation costs would justify the price inflation.

chigga8, who have you been talking to at Riverside? That's where I bought mine.

Talking to Bill Harada. Seems like a real nice guy. He checked inventory on PG Base models and there were only 3 left in the western region!!

Like Keng said, may be weak dollar. For many cars, Americans are getting a great deal now relative to other nations. I don't think you can get the G37 anywhere for what the US pays.
