Closing add ons. Are any worth the price?
Resistall -- $850
3M Protection film -- $705
Basic Maintenance (3years) -- $2,148 (supposedly a 30% discount off regular a la carte pricing)
Do any of you go with these options?
The dealer rep claims Resistall means I don't wax for something like 7 years and there is a guarantee against fading and bird damage. I am thinking about it due to the fact that we have holly trees next to the driveway and they create acid bombs when the birds eat them. (3 cars damaged so far, one of the big holly trees is coming out in a few weeks). It is supposed to treat the inside from stains, etc. (but my interior will be black to hide the inevitable coffee spills). Isn't there something a good detail shop can do for less?
The 3M Protection Film is supposed to protect against dings and bugs, but it only has a 3 year warranty against peeling, fading and cracking. (that could look worse than debris marks and bugs.)
Basic maintenance might make sense, if it really does provide a discount from the fees I will necessarily incur on maintenance.
So what do you think? Vehicle will be a G37 6mt, with premium, spoiler, and a few small add ons, black/black

Otherwise I have no idea what you're talking about. However, there is a scratch guard coat that Nissan has developed a few years ago, which is basically self-healing paint. As long as the scratch doesn't break through the coat, the paint will heal itself within 10 days or less. The effects last for 3 years. I thought I read somewhere that all Inifitis would have this starting next year, but I don't recall seeing solid proof of this yet. Read more about the scratch coat here.

If you are dealing with a dealer that is offering all that crap (sorry) then you should find a new dealer. That kind of rip-off stuff belongs in low-class dealerships, not makes like Infiniti. I would be concerned about what other questionable things they are doing.
I did opt for the alltire warranty - five years - tires and wheels - no deductible. I ran over enough pot holes and elevated manhole covers to destroy two tires over four years in my first G coupe. The wife managed three tires on her car over three years. Gotta love low profile tires. $499. When discussing with my insurance company he was lamenting his wife ruining three tires on her 328i in 9 months. Maybe it would be cheaper to get new wives.

Haha, if you're talking about a clearcoat, then you're right on the money...and I believe all cars come with a clear coat

Just picked up my G37 Sport, and declined all add ons. (black/graphite/premium) Might consider having a shop add the 3M, however, I don't like the way it looks on the hood.
