Looking at buying a new G37....input needed

Hi guys, I have been talking to the Internet specialist at one of the local dealerships here and this is the deal he is offering me online so far. I am going in Saturday to drive the car and maybe buy it. Here is what he is offering so far with out negotiating yet.

2008 INFINITI
G37
Coupe 6MT
w/Premium Pkg, Navigation Pkg, Splash guards, Illuminated Kick plates and wheel locks!
MSRP $42,274

Special Price: $40,274 and they have 2.9%-3.9% APR right now. I think invoice is right around $38,000 and I would like to get them down to that. I am in Minnesota and I would also have to get new rims/winter tires and I know these G37s aren't going like hot cakes here right now because of all the snow we have so far. Anyone have any advice? I want to trade in my current car, a 2000 Civic Si with 68,000 miles, but I am worried they won't give me much since it has basic mods, such as lowered, and Intake, header, exhaust.

I don't know about Minnesota, but here in CA, people are getting invoice prices. Maybe you can call around and negotiate invoice, then go back to the dealer closer to you to have them match it.

Find out how much your Si is worth from online and maybe car max before you go into the dealer so you'd have a basic understanding and they won't be able to rip you off as much....

Just wondering, no spoiler?

No, it doesn't have one on it. I am going to ask for them to put it on.

my car is worth about 8k as far as a trade in price. I am the only owner it's had, and its in good condition and only 65,000 miles.

I think if you're willing to wait/shop/negotiate around, you can find better prices than 40274

if you live up north where the weather is bad, i think you can do better than 40000, i say around 39000 is a good offer most dealerships up there will bit on. i say go lower. infiniit of columbus in ohio, offer me 496 over invoice. so thats a good price for 6mt with premium package, splash guards, spoiler, and trunk net comes out to 37330. good luck.

That is just the price he sent me in the email, I have not even begin to negotiate with them. I am going to start with the invoice of $38,200 and ask for a spoiler to be tossed in. I know they want to get these cars off the lot.

Yeah, go ahead and play hardball with them. This is probably the slowest time of the year for them, so make the best out of it!

Trust me, in Minnesota that will be the only G37 they sell this month. I drove down to Fort Wayne, IN from Detroit to get mine, and they were just happy to move a car. With my VPP, owner's loyalty cash, and no doc fees charged, I got it for $200 BELOW invoice. They had to give me VPP price which is about $300 above invoice, but they kept throwing in more incentives when I played hard to get. Just wait it out, they'll be on their knees at the end of the month.

When I go in there tomorrow, I'll just tell them I'll pay invoice and that's it. Take it or leave it. If I have to walk, I'll walk.

Haha, Im a nice guy and easy to deal with, but I worked at a dealership in the past and know how it works. I am not going to just bend over and pay thousands more then the price I can get.

I'm dealing w/ Hussain @ Infiniti of Fairfield, easy process so far. He will get you a better price. Even with shipping (assuming shipping is $1 K), it'd be cheaper than that offer ($2 K off msrp). Sell private, you'll get more (dealers crap on modded cars).

I know they do, but mine is pretty basic and I have all the stock parts. They could put them back on if they wanted. I put my car up for sale 2 weeks ago and haven't got one peep yet. It just isn't a good time to sell a car privately and I don't want to sit here till summer with it. If they give me the right price on the car, and a fair price on my trade in, I'll do it.
