It's the best way to lower your lease payment. It's putting down multiple security deposits. As you saw on my post it's the best option out there.

Iko,

So you just say to the dealership, "I'd like to put in multiple security deposits instead of a down payment." ??

Not instead. Just tell them you want to use multiple security deposits. If they're not familiar with MSDs then you're not dealing with someone in the finance department but rather a sales rep or manager who is clueless. By doing MSDs you are buying down the rate to a lower money factor.

Anything mechcanical should still be covered by warranty. The parameters for damage charges are very specific. Bottom line if the vehicle has damage you still owe the money, MSD or not.

im still lost in this fieldd. So if im going to put 1500 down. I dont put it down. I put it into MSD. And how does that lower my monthly payment.

How does this work out for the better of me?

Each MSD lowers your MF by .0001. You'll need to round up the regular monthly payment to the closest 50 to determine your deposit. Assume the monthly payment is $529. 3 MSDs would be $1650 which could lower your payment to $507. (without having all your numbers I just plugged into a spread sheet I've been using). For that $1650 "investment" as MSDs you'll save a total of $528 on your 24 payments. Not a bad "return" on the $1650 you provided as deposit which you get back at the end of the lease.

A MSD is just multiple security deposits. Whatever your deposit is becomes the basis for MSD. If your payment is $529, then the deposit is $550. If your payment is $652 then your deposit is $700. etc.

ok.. so say my payment is 490.. we round to 500 which is one msd. And if i want to drop $1500 then i would get 3 msds and it will lower my payment and get 1500 back at the end of the lease.

If it works out to the way it does, it seems to good to b true? Why wouldent more people do it?

I think i would have to consider this f there is no catch

I believe the first deposit does not count as a MSD. It's any additional over and above the initial one. (not 100% sure)

By having a couple grand in a deposit, the risk is reduced for the lender and they can justify a lower rate.

Are you asking if your total payments will drop by $1500?

If so the answer is no.
