I paid MSRP. All on the lot were being marked up $2,000 - this is in SF Bay Area. May have been able to negotiate down a bit more, but I didn't fight it that hard - it was the perfect package/color combo for me.

My bank(USAA) has a price negotation service nationwide. They R telling me that of all their negotations on the G37, less than 1% are NOT paying a premium over MSRP. They got me $500 over invoice on my 07 coupe last Dec.

I also bank through USAA, but I never used their car negotiation service and I don’t think I ever would.

When you tell USAA or any other service to find you the best deal on a G37 they come back with a price no matter what and the dealers know this. They won’t call you and say “we didn’t find a great deal so sorry find another car or find one on your own.” Because of this, dealers will quote the service much higher then they are willing to sell. I know negotiating is a head ace, but negotiation service cannot get you a better deal then you can get yourself.

If you negotiate yourself a dealer knows if the price doesn’t work you are walking out and going somewhere else. Dealers know you can go somewhere else and probably find a better deal, especially if they are marking up MSRP, so they stop you and lower the price. Even then go to several dealers and have them bid against each other. Do you really need the car today? Wait few weeks or months until you find the best deal. The internet makes this easy.

We don’t need to buy a G37, but they NEED us to SELL us one. We have the power, not them. If no one paid MSRP every dealer would offer a discount. Dealers need to make a profit on their cars, but they don’t need to make $7k, $8k or more on this car. Keep that in mind and I bet we will see a lot more great deal stories on this thread!!!

I bought mine today - I could not get them to budge on MSRP. I even left, and they came to get me and came up on the trade instead of off MSRP.

Amen to that . I will walk away if I can't get the price I want as I don't need the car.

To everyone that is getting extras instead of below below MSRP discount, are you guys asking for these extras or is the dealer throwing them at you?

Is anyone getting free scheduled maintenance/service from the dealer for a year or more?
