hoping to do a test fit this weekend.

 

Did a test fit of the front 19x9+35 Forgestar's to confirm clearance of the Akebono's. It has similar clearance to the front coupe 19's, so all good there.

And if i do say so myself, the gloss anthracite finish goes so well with red!

 

WOW is all I can say.

 

These look really nice, fitment, color, shape, all aspects suit the car well. I maybe a bit biased as I love split 5 spoke wheels! Also I'm jealous of how the RWD sedan sits on the swifts, my AWD is still a little to high in the rear. Will you be waiting till spring to put the Fordgestars on? It's gotten chilly here in TN so I just took off my summer tires about 10 days ago. One last thing, cute pup! Love having mine out with me while I work on cars as well.

 

Wheels fit so well. I ran some Forgetstart CF10 in the same specs on my sedna at one point. I was 255/40 up front and 285/35 in the rear.

Did you decide on what tire size you plan to run?

 

Thanks man! Really happy with the Swifts as well. They ride equally as good as the stock springs with a little less body roll.

I would love to wait to put the forgestar's on but unfortunately the tires i have on my coupe 19's are smoked hah. So new tires are going on tomorrow and will rock the Forgestar's. I ceramic coated them so hopefully should help with cleaning. Good thing is that our TN winter's are fairly mild and if it snows the G stay's in the garage anyway. and Thanks for the pup comment! She is a great dog and loves to hang outside.

Got my Forgestar's wrapped in new tires and installed on the G today! Sucks that it was rainy and supposed to be that way the rest of the week. Love how they turned out though!

These wheels have scrubbed about 7-9lbs per corner of unsprung weight compared to the coupe 19's that I had previously. This relates to about 250-300lbs of sprung weight! Incredible the difference this has had on how the G performs. It is incredibly light on it's feet but yet tons of grip with the much wider tires. Very pleased!

 

Don't stop there (no pun), get some light-weight 2-piece rotors.

It's a really lousy cost vs. benefit calculation, but if you're driving in a manner where lightweight wheels are making you happy, then LW rotors will only add to that. Plus, they look really, really cool. There's no denying that.

 

That looks sharp, I am biased towards red cars. I think the red calipers really completed the look.

I've been secretly shopping for this same set of wheels.

Finally got a small break from all the rain here in TN to wash the car up and take a couple pics!

On a side note, i have noticed that I have a fairly good "clunk" coming from the front suspension when going over bumps or rough road. This is paired with some brutal vibration at speeds 65mph+. Just had an alignment done and new wheels tires. The clunk was noticeable before those items, but seems to have gotten worse.

I noticed it first after the Swift Springs were installed. I am guessing it is some worn bushings, ball joints, or strut mounts? Probably just reared its head with the lowering springs...

Been awhile so figured it was time for an update.

Have made quite a few tweaks to the exterior including a full paint correction and ceramic coat.

Got the car pulled in and masked off all the trim.



As you can see, the paint was in pretty rough shape... clear coat was starting to cloud up and baked in waterspots. This car lived in florida for the first half of its life and the paint showed.



Here is what it looked like after clay bar, cutting polish, and ceramic coat! Super happy with how it turned out. the Garnet Red really is a beautiful color.



And here are a few shots out in the sun. You can see that all of the chrome trim has been wrapped in black vinyl, added the rear spoiler, and painted the front grill black.









Not bad for a 2008 with 130k miles!
