18s FTW, and those SSRs will look sweet!

 

19s or 20s. I think that "meaty" look for smaller diameter rims looks kind of hickish. I selected 19s because it feels like a good compromise for all the considerations that lean one way or the other. Make a list. Force yourself to play with options for a while. No one has a gun to your head.

I think that black coupe looks awful. Respect for the commitment to lightweight wheels, and I think those are Enkei RPF1's, which are a worthy wheel. But it still looks awkward and cheap.

 

whatever you choose will be great but I vote for the 18s for the ride comfort and looks in real life. In pictures 19s look better for some reason but in real life they look a little too rubber band'y too me with most wheels on the G also I could be wrong but I thought with most wheel/tire combos the 18s will be lighter

 

I don't care for black rims in general, but it I think the rubber on that coupe has a larger diameter than spec if those are 18s. Just by eyeballing it, those sidewalls look like 55 or 60 profile.

Edit: I think i was confusing the sidewall with the Lip of the wheel, the profile is probably stock spec. ...still looks like monstor truck tire to me though

 

Silver 19s

 

19's. I regret getting 18s on my car. It looks silly having soo much sidewall.

 

Decisions, decisions. The comfort of 18s, and cheaper tires would be nice for sure. I'll think it through.

He's running 255/45/18 on a 18x9.5 RPF1.

Some progress on my emblemless grille...

 

I have 18's for my winter wheels and while there's a difference in ride when I put the nismos on it's not drastic. Also, if you go square and rotate every 5k you'll get good life out of the tires.


When it warms up a little more around here I'm going to give the emblemless grill a shot. That looks like good progress on yours. Are you going to paint the whole grill or leave some chrome?

 

19s ftw. Perfect balance of form & function. I roll on my 19s all year round, winter & snow included.

Here's 245/45s on 18s, not huge sidewall, and the tires are cheaper

 

It's going to have the outer edges painted KAD graphite shadow, and inner slats gloss black. Can't wait for it to be completed.

That would be awesome if you could do that. Those 18s look amazing on your car.

If you do black Definitely 19s. I would do the dark silver in 18 though with maybe a 255/40 or larger depending on wheel width

As if right now, my most likely wheel purchase will be the Dark Silver 19x9.5 +35 square GTX01 with 255/40 tires. $1600 shipped for a brand new set isn't bad at all.
