2010 G37X Sedan - Build Thread

So, I've been creeping this section for a while as I started modding my car last summer(2016) and thought I'd start a build thread, if only to remind myself where all my money has been going. Haha. I've already installed quite a few things on the car. However, my car parts room has quite a bit sitting in it right now.

The G is my daily as of right now. Although, I may be getting a truck next winter to help with carrying car mods and house mods better.

Vossens and when I was first lowered. (Went a bit lower once the coils settled)

Post Ceramic Pro install.

nice G! You def need 4 layers of ceramic pro in Manitoba! They use way too much salt and sand up there (grandparents live in Winnipeg)

Thanks man, ya the amount of salt they use sometimes is excessive as hell.

Very nice log of what you've been up to and what you've got planned, really liking the look that you're at presently w/ those staggered Vossens, the nice drop, and the chrome elimination.

Looks like you need to edit your first post, doesn't look like you're rocking 10.5s in front w/ 285s

Access Evolution Mirror Covers received and some other little goodies that came with. The green kit kat and the mints were extremely good. No idea what flavor it was, as I couldn't read anything it said. Also added the little JDM Parts Ninja as another decoration for my desk at work.

A+ Customer Service from Japan Auction Parts :-).

May get to installing them tonight.

Installed very easy install. Clean mirror, put double sided tape on access Evo mirror. Use scissors to cut around, remove second side, place on mirror. Already noticed a difference diving

I don't imagine it will, but I'm guessing heated mirrors will no longer work?

I personally don't have heated mirrors. However, I don't how see they would, as you are placing a thick 2 sided tape on top of the heated portion, then placing the new mirror on the other side.

I'd assume it would just try and warm up the 2 sided tape and eventually make the new mirror fall and break.

There might be a way to do it if you replace the existing glass completely with the new one. However, I'd assume they wouldn't recommend the two sided tape approach if that was easy or a direct replacement.

When do you use your heated mirror? I live out in the cold and almost never even have to wipe down my mirrors, let alone have them heated. Reason I ask, is my old mirrors had a ceramic coating on it and the new ones are supposed to be hydrophic.

My heated mirrors come on with my rear defroster using the same button. I thought they were standard on all G37's.

Looking forward to seeing your build come together! I highly recommend you go with Diode Dynamics HD Switchback halos over the Morimotos. DD halos are a pure white, rather than the Morimotos which lean towards the cooler side, the amber on the DD halos is also ridiculously bright in direct sunlight. Also have a built in dimming function.

There seems to be conflicting information online. However, the consensus seems to be that not all models have it. I know I don't. I think mine was the premium trim or journey.

Thanks! Ya, I've been looking at both. I don't necessarly need the switchback Halos as I already have the Starry Night Halos Led strip and I think it would be overkill in combination with the switchback turn signal. Although, juries still out.

I've considered both, from what I understand there is a new controller and Morimoto XBT RGB halos which should achieve the pure white look. I'm currently swaying back and forth between if I want a dotty Halo or not, as the RGBW are dotty.

The second benefit is that I can do a kill switch for the HIDs and run the halos are DRLs with the RGBW.

What is your opinion of the BC BR's?

Mine seem to turn to rocks in the cold.
