My G-Project

Well I figured I should start my own little build project since I'm going all in with this here it is.

Here's the day I got my baby, just a bone stock 08 G37 Journey Coupe with only 10k miles on it. Driven nowhere clearly because being 6 years old with 10k miles.....
Absolutely mint.

Couple of things I've already done to it...

Lifted it up and...

Put a nice Invidia Gemini Exhaust system on it

with a Stillen Gen2 Intake System

Nice sound from it too.:

Next step: Just ordered some Black Machined Niche Targa's from Treaddepot

20x8.5+25 245/35/20 in front and 20x10+40 275/30/20 in back Toyo Proxes 4Plus. Pics soon to come.

Much much more to come.

I'm in southwest florida in the Sarasota/venice area. I've been looking for someone to stroll around with around here. I'm like the only one that works on some kind of car besides Hondas and mustangs (being a ex mustang owner myself )

Treaddepot pushes those Toyo tires harrrrrrrd, lol. I'm interested to see how those fit, I priced out those wheels last week but haven't pulled the trigger since I couldn't determine what offsets I wanted.

Yeah, they seem like a very nice tire for the price though! It was hard to pull the trigger on them too but I took my brothers AMR Rims off of his 2010 mustang gt and stuck them on mine for a little test look and 20's were just for me. But we will see. I'm hoping it fits real snug.

Clean car. Good choice with Niche Targa's. I want those badly, haha. Can't wait to see how they look! What else do you have planned for the G?

Thanks man! Yeah I can't wait for them to get here.... I'm counting down the seconds. I'm looking to do a full IPL Body kit all the way around and drop it on some nice coil overs.

What would some of you guys suggest?

I'm sure, haha. I can't wait to see how the 20's look on the G. I'm still not sure if I want 19's or 20's.

I hear a lot of good things about KW V3 coils. You could also go air ride.

KW V1s are another nice choice, don't have the adjustable dampers but seem to have very good tuning out of the box for daily drivers that like to run hard. As far as the Toyos, I run the A/S (Proxes4 Plus) on my G, had the Extensa HP on w/ my smaller wheels, have them on my truck, and a buddy has the Proxes T1 Sports on his C6 Vette. For the price I don't think there's a better tire.

I'm slightly biased but I feel like I'd rather have the Conti DWS. I haven't driven with the Proxes 4 Plus specifically though, so I don't have a direct comparison. What I can say about the continental tires is that they have excellent ride characteristics with lower profiles and handle the snow impressively. Regardless, I'm sure the Toyo's are also nice, I was just recalling my phone conversation with treaddepot where they basically told me they could only cut me a deal if I bought Toyo tires, lol.

Yeah, I think Treadepot is one of the biggest distributors for Toyos so I could see that being the case. And as far as the Contis, those are very nice tires, I was just saying for the price I think Toyos are right at or near the top.
Sorry OP for the thread sidetrack, back to you
