Thought it was time to start my own build thread so i can track my progress as well as get feedback, Let me introduce myself. My name is Rigo im 24 and i live in the central valley of California. I came from the Mitsubishi platform but have always liked the G's..

i got the car on May 5 2013.. A 2012 Malbec Black g37. 19xxx miles, after taxes came out to about 26,xxx...initially was going to go to southern california to purchase one but better deal was in Fresno Infiniti.

Fast forward a couple months to 8/22/13. I was driving and got rear ended. Slight damage, bumper damaged and trunk wont close. Insurance is sending me 4k for damages, not sure if i should just fix this bumper or get a new one.

Rims (Not sure what would look good on Malbec Black)

Your feedback is greatly appreciated, Thanks

Nice start and also sounds like a good price you paid for it. What damages other than the bumper ? $4k sounds like a pretty good amount of damage compared to the pics. If it were me I'd get a new bumper, at least you'd know it would be 100% perfect under the paint
Good luck w/ the repair, always hurts to have your baby dented
As far as wheels, Malbach Black is a unique color, but possibly a dark bronze, gunmetal, or even polished silver (if you plan on keeping your chrome trim).

Just the trunk not being able to close, thats pretty much it, thanks yeah i was livid. i plan on filing a diminished value claim...when it goes into paint i plan on getting the back up camera spoiler color matched and the chrome trim painted black...yeah gunmetal is what im leaning too, but a bronze would be cool as well

When you're ready to do your window trim don't paint it, just wrap it, the side door pillars are wrapped gloss black vinyl from the factory so it'll be a perfect match. It's an easy DIY, here's my thread on it, only costs about $20

And while you're at it the painted GTR tails would look great w/ your ride
I've got the vinyl cutouts to make it an easy DIY

For the window trim vinyl just go to~
3M 1080 Vinyl Wrap - Gloss Black
click on the "select vinyl size" window and select 1ft. x 5ft.
then just follow the DIY link I provided.
And yes, I do sell the precut vinyl pieces for the taillights, it's $11 paypal. Just shoot me a PM if you're interested, I also include a detailed placement and further install tips upon ordering and they ship out next business day

Been a while since i posted an update: After i got my insurance check i ended up buying a new bumper and bought a topspeed cat-back exhaust. along with that i pulled the trigger on some swifts and had them put on the car. About a month ago i took a trip down to So Cal and ended up switching stock 17's to stock powder-coated black 18's with a fellow member. Also got Fog Hid's but the 5k seems too blue for me so im gonna order 4500k bulbs.

Plans for this year:
Vinyl wrap the chrome trim
Led bulbs (back and reverse lights)
Rear Visor
Maybe 19's or 20's
Tune
Drilled and Slotted rotors

Any feedback or Thoughts are much appreciated thanks guys.

Nice start and sorry about the bumper. How about a deep breathing intake for that beautiful engine? They have the potential to make some good gains w/ a tune plus they sound cool as sh*t under load.. Good build so far.

Looking good man. I'm usually less of a fan of those particular wheels, but with that look it seems nice. I agree with B, do that vinyl wrap on the window chrome when you can and It will set it off.

Hey RJ, any chance you good get a direct side shot of the car so we can see how it sits on the swift springs? Thanks man, car's looking good btw. I'm curious to see how 4500k fogs will look paired up with the OEM bulbs in your headlights.
