Tristanbane's Liquid Platinum G37 Mod Log

Starting up my own mod log since I am finally pulling the trigger to mod my G37 Coupe after 8 months of ownership. That means my mods are moving pretty darn quick!
I get that the Silver "Liquid Platinum" color isn't the most popular color on the G37, but I want to do something with mine instead of shunning it

WHY NO MOD? I've been holding out because I was on the brink of wanting to purchase a new car (one that hasn't officially come out yet).

WHY MOD NOW? I'm deciding to mod the car for keeps and last me over the first model year of the car I want in order to avoid any potential problems with that new car in case I give into temptation

***Please suggest me any other mods you see fit!
The car is daily driven and is my only car, so keep it fairly modest and practical, guys.***

I had my LP G for 1 year MOD free, now I have tried most of mods except for SC TT TSC and some high end JDM mods etc....
And I think LP is most popular just to me maybe kkkkk~

Nice mods~

When you paint your headlights, get TSX clear lens upgrade.
what diffuser are you going with and painted black to match the roof or CF?
Most of the members go with hotchkis or whiteline sways

and are you just going to get HFC and no mid pipe or y pipe upgrades?

Good luck and mod on! keep us updated!

Wow very nice! Gives me more confidence in modding hah I'll be keeping an eye out for you for examples of cosmetic mods on an LP!
I'm getting the AutokitsX V1 diffuser. The more modest one IMO and only in black to match.
Still gotta read up more on swaybars. Seems like the Eibach has a good balance between performance and refinement from my brief research today but thanks for bringing those up!
If I go HFC I think I will definitely go with the full Medalion catback set up.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Great modding journey you're on, car's looking very good

Agree 100% w/ Kevalteam, changing the lens (my sedan uses the STiR version) is a great upgrade and only about $50, be sure to use the metal ring spacer to give you the sharpest cutoff & the nice blue flicker

Also be sure to use the Butyl tape to reseal your lights, you definitely don't want to do this project twice.

Both the lens & sealing tape can be found here~

- FRONT LIP CUSTOM PAINTED
- GRILL
- HEADLIGHT BLACK OUT
- REAR DIFFUSER
- SWAY BARS (considering Eibachs)
- WHEELS

IMHO, sway bars next. The biggest bank for the buck with my modifications so far were the Hotchkis sway bars -- they really tighten up the ride -- most noticeable change to the driving experience thus far.

PS

Your looks great; keep it up.

Hahah I've been getting that a lot. But I haven't been able to pick the right set I don't really want all that chrome look. I just want something a little toned down. Chrome on top of silver, IMO, is a bit too much XD I mean that's why I tried my best to eliminate all chrome on the stock body already as you can see(?) haha
I've been thinking gunmetal VMR V710's We'll see though.

Thanks! The Tanabes are actually not quieter. The revving parts in the video makes it seem so because the wind (only windy on Tanabe day) crowds out the sound of the exhaust. But relatively speaking, the Tanabe's are louder, as can be compared via the in-car driving parts in the beginning of the video. I love the sound. It can be loud [enough] when you push it.

$200, from a start-up shop. But much lower than the 280 estimates I was given from other places. haha

Thanks! Yeah I heard they're great upgrades.
Just not sure if Hotchkis are good for ride quality(?). Is it too stiff? I still need to do more research. It's just that Eibach seems more middle of the spectrum.

Hotchkis or Eibach sway bars?
Are the Hotchkis worth the extra money?
I'm 99% a street driver so I'm thinking Eibach's
Any owner of either can vouch for them?

Very nicely done!

I also have an 08 LP Sport Coupe and have done similar mods. For that reason I probably am not going to do my own mod thread and will live vicariously through others. I'm surprised that no one has created an upgrade bible yet, because we often do the same things.

I have the Hotchkis sway bars and they are great. The car has very little body roll and you can throw it through corners. I believe Eibach are similar to the Hotchkis, but I can't remember. The Hotchkis are also adjustable, but I haven't adjusted them since I put them on.

Thank you I've placed an order for the Hotchkis. I misunderstood someone's post elsewhere and thought that they weren't adjustable but in fact they are. Can't wait to get them in
