2008 g37 brakes went soft while driving

Hello when I was driving to the store the other day o tried braking and my pedal had went all the way to the floor then the next time I stopped the pedal was hard again. The pedal keeps going soft about every other time i try to stop I've checked all my brake lines and none are cracked or leaking I've lost no break fluid either I'm thinking it may be air in the system but im not sure how I took the cap off the brake fluid and the runner piece on the inside was ripped but none of it feel in the fluid any ideas what may be happening? Thanks!
