Steering Rack leak

370gt / g37 sedan 2009.. I appear to have a leak in my steering rack, pic attached. Anybody had this before ? My mechanic said he's replaced the o-ring before and it's still leaking?! It's not a big leak, but I'd prefer to fix the issue without replacing the steering rack.

Check my forum have the same issue, but don’t mess with it, just clean it up with some brake cleaner and leave it. If you take it out their is small springs inside of it, which can get misaligned in there and just mess the whole rack. That bolt is also used to tighten the steering feel, if you have a lot of play in your steering wheel but your wheels are not moving you can tighten it a bit, other than that wouldn’t mess with it.

I blew out my high pressure line a month ago, rack was weeping as well. Get under there and wash it, try and find out exactly where it's coming from. I hope it's the line TBH...

It's common for that bolt to weep on Gs. I assume you'll find the same issue on the 370Z if you check the Z34 boards.

Thanks for the replies. Will clean and have further inspection. I did have heavy steering about 6 months ago, but at the time my steering fluid was a little low. Since top up the level hasn't dropped and my steering feels ok. Think I wont be messing with it for the mean time.
