Lower control arm

I was wondering if someone can tell me what this part is. It connects from the lower control arm to the spring/shock. This is the front driver side btw.

would this part cause noise coming from the front end or would it be the lower control arm? It’s like a squeaky noise when I turn the steering wheel and when I go over bumps. My mechanic told me this is the part I need but I find it hard to believe that this would cause those noises

Check your sway bar mounts and end links first. These commonly make noise.

Like he said ^ check the end links on your sway bars. Because I had mine making clunking noise when going slow speeds in really bumpy road and replaced them with Moog got it from rockauto, and you can grease them with a grease gun which will allow them to last much longer. And I do not have the clunking noise anymore. It also can’t be from the strut mount because the bushing for it is really tough to mess up and if this piece was messed up you would have a really bumpy ride up front of your car since it is connected to your strut. But check your endlinks that’s your main cause, if anything replace it and see since that is the cheapest option.
