Does the tpms 'trick' synch new tpms or just eliminate the light?

Got some new wheels and tires with tpms preinstalled but i dont want to pay 100 just to have the synched if i can do it myself. Ive seen that trick with the specific psi on youtube but im not sure if that synchs the tpms or just gets rid of the function

The G37 recognizes only one type of TPMS. Brand doesn't matter as long as it's the correct type. Each set of the correct type will have to be synched when you install those wheels. The ECU can only handle one set, it can't store other sets.
