Hello everyone, I'm looking to get information on toe bolts vs. adjustable arms.
Coming from s-chassis, I'm not familiar with opening the adjustment hole for camber or toe. It's ALWAYS aftermarket adjustable arms. But it seems like all G/Z people favor aftermarket toe bolts and opening the hole up. I doubt it's the price? And I doubt it's the work? Replacing an arm vs. taking a dremel to the subframe is easier.
For my setup I'll be running true style coilovers, so eliminating the stock toe arm/bucket wouldn't be an issue.

A question though (because I don't know, so please correct me), would the reason why we run toe bolts vs. arms be to retain whatever toe/camber curve intact? It's a multilink, so a shorter/longer arm there would change how the curve reacts, whereas a bolt simply moves the mounting point.
Generally speaking the toe bolt solution is the much more inexpensive route to go and can get toe where it needs to be. Those who choose to go the true coilover route can delete the spring bucket replacing it with the adjustable arm. It provides more adjustment for instance I believe SPC bolts give +/- 3.00 deg adjustment where SPL Arms provide +/- 6.00deg. There is probably also some weight reduction benefit from losing the spring bucket.
What is that about keeping the slots untainted? I have the toe bolts right now but I'm switching to true rears and toe arms. Am I not able to do this if I already elongated the slots? (The toe bolts and slot elongation did nothing for my car)
You can still install toe arms no problem. I'd probably also use the eccentric bolt elimination kit which includes a square washer instead of the round eccentric one. The square washer and round eccentric washers locate on the tabs next to the slots so the larger slot won't prevent you from installing anything.
The bolts worked fine for my mild drop setup and gave me plenty of adjustment to get the rear back to factory specs for cheap. New arms may have been slightly easier to install but a 90 deg die grinder made the slot cutting easy so I'm glad I saved the money.

Yeah I called Z1 and they said i would be fine with the eccentric bolt elimination. Would much rather have been able to just spend the $20 instead of $700 for true rear coilover conversion and $250 for toe arms just to bring my camber in a degree lol. But i guess i get the little bit of weight savings as a bonus
