We have a 2013 G37 with stock suspension/wheels/tires. It currently has just over 30k miles, and it's time to replace the tires...and possibly the brake pads.

Ideally, I'd like to buy tires (or tires+wheels) from America's Tire or Costco because their stores are at convenient locations for us.

Anyway, if anyone has bought wheels and/or tires from from America's Tire or Costco, can you please share your thoughts/experiences? Also, because I'm clueless, I would appreciate any tire recommendations for our sedan -- we use this car pretty much exclusively as a family commuter car, if that helps. Lastly, I don't really have an upper limit as far as budget goes, but I'm more interested in going with the best value as opposed to the top-of-the-line product.

I bought Michellin from Costco - twice. Couldn't be happier. They are much quieter than the Goodrich that came with the car, and Costco does free rotation and balancing every 6k. Can't beat it. I'd never buy tires from anyone else.

I purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports from Costco.

As you would expect, their service was top notch. They take appointments M-F, but weekends are first come, first served. I was there when they opened on Sunday and got right in. Extremely detailed oriented. They make a point to use a torque wrench instead of a impact driver--which is nice--and the manager double checks torque specs.

They aren't always the cheapest though. Tires are priced with install, and the install includes road hazard, nitrogen fill, and free rotations. So you need to consider that when cross shopping.

I think they only carry Michelin and Bridgestone, so determine what you want and shop around, because sometimes places like Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct offer promotions like a $70 Visa Rebate card, and at lease here in Charlotte, my local Tire Rack approved installer charges $14.99 to mount and balance tires.

 

Nice to hear that Costco goes the extra mile w/ hand torquing and puts the customer first. OP, if Costco can get Bridgestone S0-4 Pole Position tires in the size you need, that would be another option (that is typically quite a bit cheaper) vs. The Michelin Pilot Super Sport, if you really aren't pushing your car w/ aggressive driving there are plenty of other options that will give you longer tread life at the sacrifice of performance as well.

Got the last set from discount tire. They offered a very competitive price and even beat tirerack's price after installation. Lifetime (2-3 years on this tire) rotation, balancing and flat repair included. I passed on the road hazard.

 

Fantastic feedback; thanks so much fellas. I'll check pricing for the tires mentioned thus far. I think I'll try to wait until Memorial Day before I buy just in case prices drop more at Americas Tire/Discount Tire.

I would not buy wheels from those places if you want higher quality to match the tires.

What wheels are on your car now?

Upgrading to OEM 18" and 19" are pretty common and economical.

 

I've got the stock 17" wheels.

Sorry for the dumb question, but where is the best place to shop for OEM 18/19" wheels? Craigslist/eBay? If I were still single, I would definitely consider buying pre-owned wheels, but considering that I now have young kids, I don't think I'd be comfortable putting pre-owned wheels on our car.
