Changing tires, what else gets replaced?
Changing tires, what else gets replaced?
Just picked up some Dunlop Signature HP tires from Tire Rack, seemed like an excellent deal and great reviews. I understand my car (G37 sedan) has the active TPMS sensors build into the wheels. Does any part of these get replaced along with the tires? I've heard of some places trying to sell new sensors during the installation. I've also heard that the sensors get a "refresh kit" which consists of a new O-ring, valve stem, things of that sort. Is this necessary or can everything else stay exactly how it is? Thanks ahead of time.

This would be a good opportunity to flush the brake fluid as the wheels are off. If you're a manual rower, save some fluid and flush out the clutch too.
Rebuilding the tpms is a good idea to prevent future leaks.

Thanks for the business! Would be a good idea to rebuild the tpms sensors (new core and gaskets) while everything is apart. Depending on mileage, alignment with new tires is also a good idea.
