Rear brake parts, am I missing anything?
Rear brake parts, am I missing anything?
So I ordered OEM rear pads, rotors, and hardware for my 2013 G37x sedan. I found a very reputable store on eBay and could not pass up the prices. I plan on taking the car to an independent shop, unless my dealer will allow me to bring the parts in and won't charge much more than the independent (but I doubt it). Few questions, is there anything else I should have ordered? Not sure the hardware was necessary but I got it anyway. Any chance of anything like guide pins, seals, etc needing to be replaced? The car has less than 30k miles on it and is CPO. I bitched about the brakes being warn and rotors warped to the dealer a month or so after we got it but just didn't feel like jumping hoops anymore and ordered the parts. Any input would be appreciated. Here are the parts I ordered:
D40809N00C - hardware
43206EG000 - factory rotors (x2)
D40601MB0A - pads
D40809N00C - hardware
43206EG000 - factory rotors (x2)
D40601MB0A - pads

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the newbie questions, but do I really need a brake flush at 26,000 miles or is the brake fluid just to "top off" the reservoir? The good thing about this shop is they disassemble everything and sandblast the brake dust and gunk off of the calipers. I guess that is the best way of doing it? Is there any reason I should also need to do the fronts at the same time or is one axle ok?
No, you don't need to do a full flush, but keep in mind brake fluid degrades quite a bit from moisture over time. I do mine every couple years, if yours has never been done and it's now 3+ years old, it wouldn't be a bad idea.
All this stuff is fairly easy DIY if you have the tools, so you might just get the pads done now and do a little homework and DIY it next time.
