Recommend me some A/S tires, G37x sedan

I briefly asked about tires in my "introduction" thread, but I decided it's probably best to make a dedicated thread. We have a 2013 G37x sedan with 18k miles on it and the factory Eagle RS-A tires. Doesn't look like there is more than another few thousand miles in them and winter here in the northeast is quickly approaching. I do like shopping around on TireRack but it is very hard to finalize a tire buying decision because even the highest rated tires have reviews like "DO NOT BUY" "LASTED 6 MONTHS!", etc, etc. In my personal opinion tire X might be good on car A but be horrible on car B. So that is why I'm asking fellow G sedan owners, please recommend to me a set of all-season tires that work great on THIS particular car. The two priorities are tread-life and ability in snow. Low noise is also very important, handling is too but not as much as the other three. Personally I think the car handles really well even on the crappy RS-A tires. I am hesitant to go with two of the highest rated tires on TireRack because I have bad experiences with both. MY 2015 VW GTI came stock with the Pirelli P7 A/S tires. They are OK, not great. Pretty loud at highway speeds. Then there was the nightmare we had with the Continental DWS (NOT this new 06 version but the original). Two or three of them developed bubbles in the sidewall and needed replacing, they also lasted maybe 25k miles and were horrible in snow after the first winter. They also had a vibration issue that was never solved even with Road Force balancing. Those were on a Lexus IS250 AWD. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

I got continental control contact sport or something like that from discount tire. So far they have been great and I've put about 5k miles on them.

if you live in the NE, you SHOULD have snow tires.
i have Continental Extreme Contact DWS (Ultra High Performance All-Season), and they are nice in the summer and even good in light snow. i also have snow tires, though. different car, but the G will probably get them when the factory tires wear out ...

I have Pirelli P-Zero Nero A/S tires. They started out great, but started to develop a loud humming sound, later developed a vibration. Found out the tires were feathering, so I don't know if the tires were to blame. Otherwise the tires felt comfortable but firm. Held the corners well. In the rain it was ok, the RS-A I had originally were a nightmare in the rain. As far as snow, the tire are capable for a light snow. In heavy snow it will bite when driving straight at low speed, but when you turn it losses a lot of traction. I had a few incidents where the car got out of shape when driving straight on the highway with some heavy snow/slushy roads. Right now I'm down to 3 or 4 32nds and am also thinking about tires. The tires I'm looking at include: Michelin Primacy MXV4, Michelin Premier A/S, and Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus. Just noticed that Pirelli has a new P Zero All Season Plus. I don't like Continental only because I've had blowouts and bubbles with that brand on another car.

I'll be putting some Blizzak WS-80s on for the next few months, but was asking the same question for next spring, summer, fall. I'm prioritizing low noise, but tread wear and handling are important too. Probably wind up with some model of Michelins - their products seem universally excellent.

Not sure about OP, but I would be interested in the 225-55-17 size.

Of the bunch you mentioned above, my vote would be the Pirelli P7 AS Plus. Overall an excellent touring based option that does a lot really well. The Michelin Premier is a very close second and would have a tad better wet traction.

I just got my '13 xS and it came with a new set of Extreme Contact DWS06 all seasons.
I guess I'll see how they handle the NY winter.
Fingers crossed for a straight path!
