Cool Another brake Pad/Caliper question.

Hey guys,
I just joined and updated my garage with my details.

I had my car in for some warranty work at the dealer (driver seat frame replacement, window tracks lubed, 4 wheel alignment). While they had it, they inspected it and determined my rear pads are at 3mm left and need replacing.

I am going to replace my front brakes as well, as the rotors need replacing and the pads are ~50% or less left. Rotors have to come off...pads are going to be changed while I'm down there.

I have read a few threads here and, at least, come to the conclusion that my rotors are Front: 320mm and Rear: 307mm. I just don't know which pads to buy because I see pads and then I see pads for ATE Calipers.

I have a G37x, so it is AWD without Brembo's. Is there a "slap in your face" kind of way to determine the caliper type or do I just have to remove the pads and see?

Also, any brand recommendations for both pads and rotors are welcomed. I shop at RockAuto and Amazon frequently.

Some of the descriptions are a little conflicting on RockAuto. One might say Fits IPL Model, S Model, AWD model. Which another says Fits IPL Model Only or fits x AWD Model only. So it's quite confusing.

Can't wait to be a more involved part of this forum.

Your pads are the same as the base & journey (non-sport) RWD sedan, and you are correct it's a 320/307mm setup. The Centric PosiQuiet Ceramics are a good OEM type pad w/ low dusting & longer life. Centric Premium rotors exceed OEM performance and have a nice black e-coating w/ better venting than OEM.
HTHs & welcome to the site!

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the reply. So what model would have the ATE Calipers. I see the pads are different with "dog eats" on them, if you will.

Sorry, not sure which type you're referring to, do you have a link perhaps?

I'm seeing 3 different sets of pad (same 3 sets among all brands).
1)330mm Without Sport Brake package

2)Brembo Brakes

3) What I believe to be for mine:

I'm assuming number 1 is for the ATE Calipers?

Still not sure about the ATE calipers but the top pic is RWD & AWD coupe pads (330/330mm F&R rotors), Prio to 2010 the AWD Coupe had 320/307 combo.

The 2nd pic is the big Akebono Sport Calipers (350/355mm rotors)

3rd pic is RWD & AWD Sedan rotors (320/307mm rotors).

I have an 08 Sport with the big brakes. I have always had a bit of shudder and fade after speed runs (normal driving). I recently went on Ebay and bought cross drilled, slotted rotors and ceramic pads. Took me less than three hours to do the swap in my garage with my brother. Stops smooth with no fade. Found out most of the shudder is from my after market wheel spacers clearing the calipers, but even with the hub centers and spacers, the wheels suck for the car. Going with Vossens after winter. Also adding a 2011 G37 vert.
