My 6MT coupe developed a loud humming sound over the past 2 weeks. I thought it was worn out front tires but I replaced them and the noise is still there. It rises with speed and becomes noticeably louder when I turn left. If I am driving along and press in the clutch and rev the engine it does not affect the humm. To me it sounds as if it is coming from the front right corner but I'm not sure. Wheel bearing?

Anyone experience a loud humming noise?

My car is completely stock.

Make a recording please. I had a whining noise issue but it varied based on engine rpm. Replacing the power steering reservoir with an updated part fixed it.

 

Sounds a lot like a wheel bearing. Take off the wheel and check for play. Search YouTube for videos on how to check it.

I'm leaning more towards the rt wheel bearing/hub. I have U-Tube'd it and it seems fairly simple to replace. I will pull the wheel and spin it and see if I hear it. I can buy a hub & bearing from Pep Boys for about $90. It's a ProLine and they say meets/exceeds mfg specs.
