BBK heavier or lighter than the non sport brakes?
So I have an AWD sedan and I upgraded to the sport Akbono brakes with stoptech rotors. The car was already heavy as it was. Do you think the bigger brakes put more weight? Now a lot of you might think it's a stupid question as bigger brakes mean more weight, but that's not true, I have seen performance BBK's that weigh less than smaller brakes.

So you guys think its better to upgrading to OEM BBK / AKEBONO from Infiniti is better than upgrading OEM base / non sport brakes ? In terms of braking performance and weight ?
I have a 2010 G convertible and sticking with 18s.
Deciding between these two packages

If you have 18s from the factory you might already have the OEM BBK. Btw the two packages you linked are miles apart in pricing. Ofcourse, you're better off with the BBK's for the most part, but it also depends on your needs. The BBK will help you more with brake fade rather than stopping power. The stopping power for both the setups are pretty close however, the BBK can dissipate heat better than the non sport brakes due to larger rotors, so if you track the car it will help you more. However, for day to day driving other than the looks you won't feel that much of a difference.
I was told the OEM BBK was only specific with "SPORT" / "S" models ? I have a base convertible and the brake calipers don't have the "Infiniti" logo stamped on it. Yes I don't plan on tracking the car, just want a little more braking power and cutting some weight if applicable.
I guess my question really is, which set up is lighter ? non sport oem brake kit or BBK akebono kit ?

OMG idk how I overlooked that ! Thanks for pointing that out. Guess i'll just stick with the nonsport brakes, just gonna upgrade the rotors/pads. Maybe powdercoat the calipers "speed yellow" for more a polish look
