Eibach springs IPL/S?

Anyone know what the suspension differences are between an IPL and an S-series? 2013 specifically.

Eibach sells different spring kits for the IPL...and the drops for front/rear are pretty much exactly what I want. My car is an S though.

Regular/S kit drop: 1.2 front .8 rear

IPL kit drop: 1.2 front .5 rear (want.)

Regular: Eibach Pro Kit Springs Infiniti G37 Coupe (08-12) 6388.140

IPL: Eibach Pro Kit Springs Infiniti G37 IPL Coupe (2011-2013) 63105.140

Good question, not sure if the OEM struts on the IPL have the same part # as the regular S coupes but the springs are supposed to be 20% stiffer. The ride height is the same from what I've read so the shocks should be the same length. Not sure why the IPLs wouldn't work on the other RWD coupes.
Interested where this may go....

Quickly look up part numbers and it seems like the front struts have different part numbers for sport vs IPL.

SPort front left strut: E6111-JL01C
IPL front left strut: E6111JU40A

I def think that it is worth it to dig some more into this. Maybe a descent suspension upgrade would be IPL struts and Eibach springs for IPL struts...

Thoughts?

I have always thought that the struts are the same throughout models, and it is the sway bars that Infiniti gets their XX% more firm numbers. This would be why the ride heights are similar for sports and IPLs.

I looked into your part numbers and it seems that the part # you listed for the "sport", is a part # for 2008. This screenshot shows that this part fits basically every 08 trim.

The part # you listed as an "IPL" strut shows that it fits every model for 2012-2013.

I encountered this when I was doing the aluminum pedal swap. I would see the same accelerator pedal with 3 different part numbers. The only difference between the pedals were the year they were manufactured.

THanks for the catch!

I have a 2008 so I guess that's why there was a different part number. Weird that infiniti would do that.

Let us know how the IPL springs go.

Funny you start this thread, ive researched this to death prior to going for the IPL springs as i got them on ebay brand new for a pretty good deal. From my research the IPL eibach springs have a firmer spring rate in front than regular g37 coupe eibach springs 548 lbs/in front vs the IPL eibach front 584 lbs/in. The rear eibach springs have the same spring rate at 531 lbs/in for IPL and regular coupe. From my research that is the only difference. I will update this thread once I install these on my 2008 RWD coupe.

Also from research the IPL OEM springs have nearly the same spring rate as the regular coupe eibach springs at 549 lbs/in so that could be the reason for different springs between IPL and regular coupe. Still not much of a difference to be noticed in daily driving, maybe even a benefit.. correct me if I am wrong though.

wow..

you guys do understand that IPL is not the same as G37S.. I don't even understand why one would think that IPL shocks would be the same at sport!!! when it's not same car!! The IPL runs' re-tuned springs and shocks!!! the IPL does not share the same springs or shocks or sway bars as the G37S..

Don't just lump everyone together GT, I think the point of this thread was what the differences were between the two, and yes there seem to be quite a few.

Well, I have installed the IPL Eibach springs on my 2008 g37 Coupe, and it worked the car is lowered, the suspension is not that stiff either. The wheel gap is about the same front to back, I'd say about 2 fingers or so.

We all know that there are differences between the IPL and base or sport, that's not the point of this thread, we just want more options for our vehicles and yes the IPL is "cool" we know, get over it.
