For those that had the Dunlop tires new from the factory and replaced with the Pilot Super Sports; How does the ride and road noise compare between the two? Dry and wet handling between the two? Tread life?

 

Super Sports hands down all day long. Everything about the tire, I would say, is better than the Dunlop.

 

^+1. Even wet traction is as good if not better with PSS. Noise is about the same.

Dunlop's will probably last longer, that's just cuz its an all season tire. I had close to 60K Km on Dunlop's and still had around 50% tread.

Dry traction there is no contest.

 

The Dunlop is a summer performance tire, according to the manufacturer; it's not an all-season tire. Over on tirerack, one person described its winter performance as "like driving on plastic."

 

I have the Dunlop Sport Maxx and they are indeed all-season tires...they come stock with my 2013 G37xS sedan.



They actually performed pretty well this winter during the Nor'easter blizzard we had in New England.

Michelin PSS are probably the best summer tires you can by right now with a relatively decent lifespan (ie: not the Pilot Sport Cups or something of that variant).

 

Michelin all day, no contest for summer tire vs all season tire.
I'd go with the Michelin & get some blizzaks for winter.

Then you don't want dunlops, you want a summer tire.

 

Pilot super sports. I had the Dunlop Star Specs, they where a excellent handling tire but lasted only 24K miles. Currently running the Pilot super sports, they are outstanding and I have 26K miles on them. They are the best tires for the G37 in my opinion.They look like they will go another 10K. Recently I ran a road corse for 30 miles following my friends Lambrogini Gilargo, speeds where 60-85 miles per hour and the turns sineage was 35- 45 mph. We where both able to run the 35 mph turns at 70mph and the 45mph turns at 85 mph. I used the paddle shifters in 3rd and 4th gears. With the suspension mods and the Michlien PSS on my G I was able the keep up with the Lambo, needless to say my friend who is an avid high performance driver was serouisly impressed with my Infiniti especially 50 K for the G vs 230K for the Lambo.

 

I put Michelin PSS on my G about 4 months ago and can say for a fact, the best set of tires you can put on a G for serious performance and comfort. Like Risky Guy said... Michelin PSS All Day Long!!!!
