SQUealllll!!!

I changed my back brake pads on my g37 sport with the same Akebono pads and the first time I hit the brakes every morning they squeal like crazy!!!! What is the fix for this? They used to just sqeal a little bit in the morning and now its every time I drive the car the first time I hit the brakes.

Park in an indoor humidity controlled environment. Otherwise, the thin layer of rust that builds up on your rotors every single night may make them squeal at first when you apply the brakes until it's off. for some reason some pads do it more than others. Using the exact same pads its odd that it would increase, but it is completely harmless. FWIW, mine don't squeal.

doesnt happen to me but im sure its harmless if it goes away after. i dont know if this has anything to do with it but when i used to park my car outside i would see some surface rust on my rotors but after i take it out around the block and apply the brakes itll be gone.

Did you use any grease between the pad/caliper contact area?

When I got new stock rotors and pads at Infiniti for my 08 coupe sport it still squealed during initial drive as well especially in wet and humid weather. Completely harmless. Just embarrassing during dates. Changing to different pads should fix it.

No I didn't. Just anti squeak on the pads themselves. I will try that next.

Bought mine new. Started squeaking after a little over a year. Backing out of the garage in the morning... No noise after that. Doesn't bother me one bit. In fact, it alerts any passer bys that a car is present.

Mine are stock. They squeak as well. To temporarily fix, reverse at about 30mph and apply heavy pedal. That usually makes them stop squealing for a few days if you are that bothered by it.
