Bought used wheels need to know what size tires fit?

I bought some used Nissan wheels to put some winter tires on for my new G37 Vert. They are 18x8JJ. Also, the inside of the wheel shows two are for front and two for rear, but they appear to be identicle wheels. How can I tell what size tires fit, and does it matter if front goes on front and rear on rear? I'm thinking it does, or why label them at all? Anyway, any insight would be appreciated.

Tirerack is a good source of info.

If I had 18x8, I would probably to with 235/45/18. Although I know 225/50/18 ot 245/45/18 should also fit.

Call up Tirerack and the guys there are very helpful and will give you good advice.

Through some research I found the answer to my own questions. They are actually Infiniti wheels probably from a G35 from around 2005, so the wheels are the same size and same offset. But, the tires were staggered on the G35. They are designated front/rear, so you can't rotate front to rear or rear to front as a safety precaution. Now I just need to decide what tires to run in the winter. All season or Winter tires?

Only the S has a staggered setup and they usually have two different width wheels. Yours sound like they came from a non-S so no need to have two different size tires.

I run a staggered setup most of the year but my winter wheels/tires are all the same size. If you want to run a dedicated winter setup; I don't see the point in putting on all-seasons.
