Steering wheel vibration after 25mm spacers

Guys,

Recently i installed 25mm spacers on all four corners. They were installed in the normal star pattern. Everything is fine and they look great, however I am getting steering wheel vibration between 60-80mph, nothing crazy, but i def feel it. daily driving under 60mph, there is none or above 80mph.

also noticed that the steering is not as tight and responsive as before the spacers.

has anyone had a similar problem?

Eugene

Some spacers are made of lower quality material and the manufacturing process and product tolerances arent as high as some others. This means that some lower quality spacers won't necessarily be cut (or balanced) perfectly and will produce the vibration you mentioned. I'm running 15mm Kics without any issues.

Honestly i think any spacer is gonna give you vibrations no matter what..its unfixable so you cant really do anything about it. just sacrifice looks for vibration now i guess.

This is just not true!

I'm running 15mm hubcentric spacers on all four wheels with NO vibration, including plenty of highway miles at (let's just say) speeds above 65mph. I'm VERY picky about the ride of my car, and it's as smooth as the day I got the car. (I've forgotten the brands, as I bought two seperate pairs from board members.)

If you have vibration, then you have a problem with fit or bad spacers.

There has to be some vibration. i mean it wont feel like stock smoothness but if its tolerable for you then ofcourse you wont notice or mind it. he has 25mm thats like 1 inch thick! maybe it has something to do with the Hub bore size maybe its not 66.1. Well Eugene like i said before its not going to be the same as stock....never but hey atleast your more flushed now. What kind of wheels are you running? stock? aftermarket? if aftermarket whats the hub bore size of the wheels.

You must install them properly. Tighten the lugs to 80ft-lbs each if you have access to a torque wrench in a star pattern.
Personally i tighten my wheel lugs 80% on each in a star pattern then give them the final turns.

edit: same goes for if your using bolt on wheel spacers, make sure you tighten them to spec and in the star pattern
