Question Spacers... Weight...

I have a 07 g35 Sport 6mt Sedan.

I'm going to be installing BC Coilovers, Hotchkis Sway Bars, GT Strut Bar, and H&R DRM Spacers.

I'm concerned about the extra weight that the H&R DRM Spacers will give to the wheels/tires. This means I would be losing acceleration and performance will slightly decrease? Should I just hold off on installing the coilovers until I have proper wheels/tires that wouldn't need spacers? I'm thinking about purchasing Sport wheels either from the 370z or g37 which I believe I'd need spacers for them as well... I'll most likely be purchasing a nice set of wheels for next season/summer (Volk, Work, etc.)

Also what MM do you guys recommend for about a Eibach pro-kit drop, maybe slightly more of a drop. I was thinking about purchasing 20MM spacers for the front and rear.

Feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, doesn't it add unsprung weight to the wheels? I don't understand why you think its funny?.. lol

Heavy wheels equals less performance...

Very true, but spacers don't weigh very much at all.
You aren't putting elephant wheels on.

I'm laughing because you think that a couple pounds of unsprung weight is going to make any sort of noticeable difference on a 3800lb luxury car. I don't even think they weigh a couple of pounds. You'd be better off going on a diet than you would be by not running spacers.

Thanks for the info... I actually looked up how much they weigh and it seems like they're under 2 pounds which is bad at all. It's light and it focuses on the center of the hub which doesn't require as much power to turn as if it were larger heavy wheels...

You're right.. lol.. I didn't know how much they weighed before posting. It looked like it was heavy from the pictures. I was thinking they were about 5 pounds each..

Thanks for the info.. I'm going to order some 20mm spacers

Hey give the guy a break, he asked a legitimate question. Yes, the wheel spacers weigh less than 2 pounds, so they shouldn't make a difference in performance. In fact, you'll probably gain stability due to the wider track of the car. For an Eibach drop, I recommend 20mm spacers, here's a link to when my car was on Eibachs and 20mm H&Rs:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/brakes-...hotoshoot.html

I've since upgraded to Teins coils and Volk GT30s

If you have the money, I'd recommend going with a quality (and I stress quality, don't buy a cheap set) coilover right from the start. Your ride and performance will be better. I wish I had.

^^ Agreed, 10lbs of spacers won't have noticeable effect on a 3600lb car. It's like driving your G w/o taking a dump in the morning
