Rims without tpms??
Just move the sensors over to your new wheels. I tire shop should be able to do it for you. There is no other way to clear the light.
make sure you get the correct sensors for post march 2010 models. most people selling sensors here are for 2008-pre March 2010. the tire shop should be able to dismount your tires and put the sensors on for about $15-$20 per wheel. If you get another set, it needs to be reprogrammed. If you swap your original ones, you don't need to reprogram them.
What sniper said. I thought I needed new sensors too with my new wheels, but honestly the warning light isn't a big deal. You just need to check tire pressures regularly like you should be doing anyway. I think it's a lot of money to spend for something that's really not that useful. Why don't they show individual pressures for each wheel?
Try going without them until you get new tires, then decide if you really need them. Anyway, it's mind over matter. If you don't mind, then it doesn't matter.

very NOT true, ive had my light removed its a special computer that not alot of shops have because it costs alot from what i heard, but ive had mine removed for 50 bucks didnt go on since last year
As Dimitry as said, The light is a service code from what I understand. It can be disabled.
Please elaborate...I have never heard of anyone disabling this warning light. It is part of the diagnostic check, how would you simple remove it? Some have taken the dash apart and removed the actual LED but thats as close as I heard to disabling it...
I totally disagree... I recently got a screw in my tire causing a slow leak. I would not have noticed it without the warning light. Tire had 15 lbs of pressure when I got to Tire Kingdom. Without the warning I'd have been looking at an expensive rim sitting on a flat tire after work that day. Do yourself a favor and pay the $80 to get the sensors switched.
TPMS is standard on ALL automobiles sold in the U.S as per federal law. As discussed many times on this forum it’s a safety device designed to save your tires', if not your own life. For the price, it’s well worth it. Furthermore, disabling the light is arguably illegal, but certainly foolish.
Plenty of people run without it. I just hate lights on the dash. Vendor was nice enough to pay for my tire mounting/balancing and sensor swapping at the tire shop across the street when I bought my wheels.
"You just need to check tire pressures regularly like you should be doing anyway."
I agree. Waiting until the light comes on is for people who don't know where their dipstick is.
I just got new rims mounted with Super Sports, I did get new set of TPMS from Tirerack, but light staying on for now is not that big of a deal to me. There is a sweet thread on how not to waste money on having your car "learn" new sensors. Love this board!
