Possibly air in the lines, and have you done the break in of the pads?

Sounds like air in the lines; Did you disconnect the brake lines? I haven't changed pads/rotors on this car, so I don't know what's involved. If you disconnected the lines, you'll need to top off the fluid and bleed the lines. I always use a vacuum bleeder through the master cylinder, but traditional bleeding methods are easier if you have a friend to help, or a set of speed bleeders.

you dont need to bleed the brakes after changing pads/rotors. the hawk hps pads have to be hot to brake better even though they are considered street pads. i had them on my previous car....for about a month before I got rid of them.

^what he said. I ran both Hawk HPS and ceramic pads and neither were good for street use. The HPS required way to much heat up time to bite effectively and the ceramics had no initial bite what so ever. Both pads gave me scary moments where i would have to bury the pedal to get the car to stop and even then it just felt like there was no bite at all. Im now running StopTech street performance pads and i willl never run anything else. These pads have far exceeded my expectations and will put your head through the windshield regardless if they are hot or cold.
