Different tire pattern between front and back

Question:

Does it matter if the tread pattern on the two front tires are different than the rear tires? I have to replace the two front tires because one is damaged but they are a discontinued model and I didn't want to replace all 4 since the rear tires have more than 80% tread.

Any help would be appreciated!

Ideally, you should replace all four as the limits of adhesion and traction on those tires may be quite different, affecting the balance of your vehicle.

That said, if they're all the same type of tire (i.e. Summer, Winter, etc.) and you don't rag on the vehicle, you shouldn't notice a difference at all.

Personally, i like the piece of mind of matching tires.

Thanks for the info guys! The tires are for my aftermarket wheels that I only put on for the summer months. I drive less than 1k mi/month and except for a few spirited runs on the highway, I don't beat on the car at all. I'm getting the same brand and speed rating tires but the fronts will just have a different tread pattern
