225/40/19 & 245/35/19 Will this work?

Hello everybody.

I am new and taking delivery of my 2011 G37S coupe on Monday.

I want to replace the tires right away as the stock Bridgestone RE050A are ok, but I want the Bridgestone RE-11's

They don'e make the stock front size, so I was thinking of dropping from 45 series F and 40 series R , to the above sizes so I can get these tires.

I know I will have a speedo that is a little off, but would it throw anything else out of whack?

I want to do this because I am getting sway bars and KWV3 added even before I take delivery of the car and I want tires that will take advantage of the suspension.

I can't afford to do wheels and tires, so I need to stick with just tires.

The RE-11 are the only tires I want , as I had them on my previous car.

Thanks

Yeah, stock 19" wheels.

Won't going wider on stock rims create a stretched look? That isn't what I want.

Going from a 225 to a 245 F and a 245 to a 275 R on the same width rim is a bit extreme.

I would much rather deal with getting the speedo re-calibrated then having a overly stretched look

Hardly. I'm running 245/275 on my stock 19's and my sidewall is flush with the edge of the wheel. Going narrower on stock rims will create a stretched a.k.a dumbass look.

I was thinking of running this setup too on my 19's but on my G37x sedan...the fronts will be just fine running 245-40 but the rear sidewalls are already pretty flush with the oem 245-40-19...does going with the 275 setup on the rears make the tire overlap the 19" wheel at all?

Stretched is what we have now!!
Tire being narrower than wheel.

The 245/275 combo will even the tire on the wheel.

On a coupe the back wheels are 1" wider than the fronts.

245/275 difference is 30mm, 1" is 28mm.

Dont mean to hijack this thread, but could either of you comment on any possible rubbing issues if I went this route considering I'm lowered on H-Techs? Quicksilver - I see you are lowered on Eibach, but I believe the H-Techs are almost 3/4" lower all around. Do you have any pics of these size tires on your lowered car (assuming stock wheels)?

Thanks.

Best to run the 245/275 combo. The sizes you mentioned are close to an inch shorter than normal which will throw off speedo, reduce load capacity, etc. Not the best ones to use.

But won't that give me a "ballon" look to the tires and have them bulging out? I don't like that look.

If they will look and sit flush with the rims, then, I would be willing to do that.

How would that decrease the load? all RE-11 tires are XL rated, and aren't one of the reasons these tires are so good, is because the sidewalls are super stiff?

I had them on my M3 with 245/40/19 and 265/35/19 and they were fine.

I ran a tire calculator and it shows an error of 2 MPH @ 60, I can live with that, heck the M3 was off by 5 MPH off the showroom floor.

It just seems to me that going up 3 sizes in the rear, will give the tire a bulging look.

Thoughts?

Also, that puts me into the same problem as stock, the RE-11's don't make a 275/35/19.

The total circumference is almost an inch difference, but height wise, it's only half that

There is bulge with the 275/35 rears. Some like the look, others don't. I'm in the middle.

The 245/40's look a little tall but don't bulge. I personally wish I would have went with 245/35 on the front but it's all good. A pic for reference.
