To those who installed the lowering spring themself.
To those who installed the lowering spring themself.
HI,
So I installed the Eibach PK on the rear OK.
I rented spring compresser from AZ.
I took out the front strut and compressed the spring, but the bolt on the top (in the middle) still hard to unbolt.
Any trick to remove this nut?
Thanks

From what I understand from other people's experiences and my own that bolt is a b!itch to remove. When I installed my first set of aftermarket springs we had to torch it and then cut it off.
You really need an impact to get that nut off. Otherwise the strut itself just wants to spin. Also, you're going to have a hard time getting that AZ spring compressor to work with the lowering spring. My friend does suspension work for a living and it still took us almost 2 hours to do the fronts....albeit we took our time. But seeing the work that went into it and how easy it was with the proper tools, it was the best $60 i could have ever spent.
Please be careful with the spring compressors.. those things are death traps.. it's so much easier to find a shop that does suspensions and work whatever deal you can to have them use theirs.. bonus is you don't run the risk of those things letting go..

My car is still on the jack.
Thanks, Josh. I am very careful.
yea i loosened the bolt while the strut was still on the car much easier. i did have a problem with the az spring compressor fitting between my eibach spring coils and had to take to a shop with a different type of spring compressor
the spring compressor we had couldn't compress the Eibachs enough, so we had to use the cars weight to compress it. Not a "recommended" way to do it but it worked.
