I just received my 30k tune up, and brakes were listed as 5-6mm all around.
1.2k miles later, I got my summer tires put on and the (independent) mechanic showed me that I have <1mm on the inside pads, still 5+ on the outside pads for each wheel!
This concerns me, as the dealer only looked at the outside pads, while Im almost working on bare metal inside. Is this type of wear normal? The dealer told me there is some alignment that can be done with the calipers, but other than that Im out of luck.
This dealer has been VERY good to me thus far, so Id like to trust them, but this just seems fishy.
Anyone else experience this type of wear? Is there a correction for it?

You can always buy a set of pads and replace the inner pads only.

Uneven wear is perfectly normal, especially if you do not have a sport package; the inner pad tends to retain more heat, and the braking force is not perfectly even.

Just make sure you don't mix pad compounds (use the same pad when replacing the inner pads only).
